Hey Cherub!  I have ancestors in Friesland as well, a younger sister of my father is currently living there now (Wolvega if I'm correct) though I never visit her anymore... I used to visit her when my niece Miranda and I were still kids (we are about the same age), they lived in Lemmer, Friesland then. My niece moved to northern Germany, not so far from the border. My dad grew up in Drente, wich is below Friesland. It is very beautiful in Friesland. They have alot of green there, grass, sand&sea at the coast and forest as well.. But they do have their own language kinda.. I (as a dutch person) cannot understand most of what they say in Fries, lol... their language is really apart from the rest of Holland.. though in the South it can be tiring to try to understand a word as well, lol  There are Jaarsma's Sietsema's etc etc.. they tend to like names that end with 'ma' I guess <grin> I live in the middle of Holland, wich is much more crowded than the north.. talking about the North makes me want to go there now, lol.. feel the wind roam free.. Though we do have green here as well.. the dutch are quite consious about keeping it as green as possible, balance the red (stones, buildings) with the green... wich does make housing more expensive overhere.. but I guess... no I know.. it's worth it..
