Here's my take on this. First off I need to explain my view about some shtuff.
I have a host of Kumaras with me. Some Kumaras are ascending, some are not. The ones with me are.
We created the Kumaras in a different universe to deal with the fear that had entered long long ago, making them very masculine and not susceptible to emotions. They entered this galaxy a long time ago from the future from where we sit linearly, through a rift in the time continuum and into the Orion system. Not discussing the whys and wherefores here, suffice to say they were chi suckers extraordinairre and unsympathetic toward genetic mutants. They were adepts at getting into the space between the cells of a creation.

The space between is supposed to have structure connecting the cells. Here's a 2d sample of what I'm saying ...
O|O|O|OO|O|O|OO|O|O|OO|O|O|OThe O's are cells (Thoth's circles) and the lines are the structure connecting these (Thoth's angles). (The O's all should be touching, and the lines connected vertically too.) The lines connecting the cells is the life force of integrated structure. There should be no discernible space between. In a 3d view, picture sphere within sphere like onion layers. There's space between the layers but it's not discernible and is filled with juices.
The Kumaras were adept at getting into the space between and sucking the juices, expanding the space between so the cells of light weren't touching and had no connection. This is a major cause of distortion and degradation because light cells couldn't communicate with each other because the link between was missing. Eventually the body lost integrity and collapsed.
Many have been sucked in by the Kumaras attempt at controlling All That Is through this means of enslavement. They were charming, disarming, and mesmerizing and set themselves up as the love you needed to ascend, but you could never get enough of what they offered because what they were actually doing is taking your chi / power / light and using it to satisfy their craving to falsely ascend. For you, it was a cycle of addiction instead of ascension. Thoth was one who got caught up in this ... purposely, in order to put a stop to it. I see this riddle as his attempt at explaining what it takes to get out.

***Hounds of the Barrier are the Kumaras, waiting for those who would attempt to pass through the Barrier to the light through honest ascension. We are in the 3rd attempt to complete the ascension of All That Is. The Barrier is built on the lack of integrity (physical and psychological) and has stifled this completion and inhibited the freedom to start anew till we got it right.
The Kumaras were created to make sure we didn't get back to the light without dealing with every potential hindrance (or as much as we can see ... no guarantees ... never say never) to the fullness of love, i.e., we had to battle the Kumaras to win back our home.
In that space where time exists not,
faintly I sensed the guardians of cycles.
***They are masters of time travel and lived outside of time.
Move they only through angles.
Free are they not of the curved dimensions.
***The angles (life force) are outside of space-time, the circles (creation) within. One cannot be free of space-time through false ascension ("free are they not").
Strange and terrible
are the HOUNDS of the Barrier.
Follow they consciousness to the limits of space.
***As you expand your consciousness to the limits nearing the light outside of space, they follow you, waiting to pounce and suck, inhibiting your ascension and falsely building their light by taking yours.
Think not to escape by entering your body,
for follow they fast the Soul through angles.
***Bringing your consciousness into your body was no escape, since they were in between your cellular structure causing degradation of physical form.
Only the circle will give ye protection,
save from the claws
of the DWELLERS IN ANGLES.
***Getting your consciousness into your cells is the way to overpower the lack of integrity, to rebuild both consciousness and form. Kumaras are reptilians originally (claws).
Fled I through circles back to my body.
Fled, and fast after me they followed.
Aye, after me the devourers followed,
seeking through angles to devour my Soul.
***Through the spheres of consciousness back to physical form .. and they followed him, seeking his light within form too.
Aye, know ye man,
that the Soul who dares the Barrier
may be held in bondage
by the HOUNDS from beyond time,
held till this cycle is completed
and left behind
when the consciousness leaves.
***If you try to break through the Barrier you may be caught and held by the ones for whom time is no limitation. When this cycle we are completing is finished, if you haven't escaped the bondage and mass consciousness regains the light, you will be left behind. (Yes, folks, not everybody is choosing to rectify their mistakes, and there are those for whom there will be no more chances.)
Entered I my body.
Created the circles that know not angles,
created the form
that from my form was formed.
***Created new circles/spheres that had no space between. No angles are discernible when cells are connected by life force. ... Re-creating the light form from which the lower form was formed in the first place (descension), i.e., we're building our new light bodies from here (ascension).
Made my body into a circles
and lost the pursuers in the circles of time.
***Was able to create a light form and get away from the pursuers.
But, even yet, when free from my body,
cautious ever must I be
not to move through angles,
else my soul may never be free.
***Don't get caught up in living in the space between even when free of the confines of physical form, or you'll get sucked back into non-ascension.
Know ye, the HOUNDS of the Barrier
move only through angles
and never through curves of space.
Only by moving through curves
can ye escape them,
for in angles they will pursue thee.
O man, heed ye my warning;
Seek not to break open
the gate to beyond.
Few there are
who have succeeded in passing the Barrier
to the greater LIGHT that shines beyond.
For know ye, ever the dwellers,
seek such Souls to hold in their thrall.
***In sum. Includes a word of caution to seek not to open the gate to beyond. He can't say he didn't warn us of what it would take to break through the Barrier, and that there are those who will seek to suck us still if we make it.

We must deal with the emotions of this descension before the body can change. Step by step, we complete an emotion, the physical attachment to it is removed, and another piece of the light body can be placed.
Thoth's riddle applies micro and macro. As with our creature bodies, the Kumaras also controlled various systems and were responsible for the extinction of many by expanding the space between. Through chi sucking and resulting loss of integrity and degradation of structure, the cells (planets, stars, etc.) could no longer touch and collapsed.
