Coming Tuesday, July 21: longest solar eclipse of the century

Indeed this is a rare and striking summer of planetary activity. First we've been having the ongoing dance of Jupiter-Neptune-Chiron. While that triple meeting still continues, now we have an unusual trilogy of eclipses to add to the mix.
Eclipses themselves are not unusual. Twice a year we usually have two sets, one lunar and one solar two weeks apart, ushering in new cycles of change and transformation. And every two and a half years, the eclipses move to a new sign.
But when this major solar eclipse hits July 21 at 29 degrees Cancer, it will hit the Cancer/Capricorn axis for the first time in many years. This will open a powerful birth canal for everyone, but especially people with strong Cancer or Capricorn (sun, moon or rising).
But not only are the eclipses moving into a new sign on Tuesday, we are also in the midst of three in a row, rather than two. Consider this an eclipse birth canal par excellance. The first was a lunar on July 7 in Leo, the second solar about to hit Tuesday, and the third lunar arriving August 5 in Aquarius.
Without a doubt though, the big deal is Tuesday.
So what does this mean for you exactly? Well, this particular eclipse is the longest of the current century, a full 6 minutes and 37 seconds, or three times the average length. Most solar eclipses are exact for two minutes at most.
Phenomenal.
And we haven't had an eclipse at this degree since 1990.
So consider it a 'reset button' of sorts. Karmas that were set in motion in 1990 are now being completed. A radically new cycle is opening, particularly if you have planets in Cancer or Capricorn.
You may have been feeling a sense of suspension lately, as if a big wave is about to hit. Many of my clients have mentioned this. Often before a major eclipse, if you listen inside, a feeling of quiet arrives, a sense of incipience, even if we know not what we await.
Our souls know.
It may help to think back to your life in 1990, as that particular chapter may be ending. I always view eclipses in the most positive light. As long as you invite the 'highest expession of the new energy,' and feel receptive, there is nothing to fear.
In fact, as a Capricorn, the eclipses of that year hit me full-strength with a massive wave of rebirth I could have never anticipated. I was quickly delivered a new life almost effortlessly. Though I'd been ill and mostly bedridden for three years with serious endochrine failure, an acupuncturist appeared on the week of the eclipse who ended up healing me relatively rapidly. Soon after, a new great apartment appeared, my business restarted, everything resuscitated and reconfigured.
So I'm looking forward to seeing what these next ones might deliver.
