Get set for a phenomenal read by a phenomenal author. This book crackles with the stormy life of the movie, but is further enhanced by Whitley's marvelous way with words.
The Day After Tomorrow sings a song of danger based on the truth of sudden climate change. Could it really happen this way? Nobody knows for sure, but we DO know that there have been extremely fast, extremely violent unexplained weather events in the past. And we know that we are probably already in the early phases of climate change right now.
This storm front of a book features Whitley writing fiction at his white-hot, stunning best.

The Day After Tomorrow 31-May-2004
The media is flooding the world with the false claim that a storm such as the one depicted in Art Bell and Whitley Strieber's The Coming Global Superstorm and the new movie The Day After Tomorrow cannot happen. They are using claims from scientists, mostly funded by the oil industry, to lull the public into a state of indifference about this danger. Every major media outlet in the world, from the New York Times to le Monde to CNN to the BBC to Fox and on down the list is repeating the same falsehood: the storm, as depicted in the movie, could not happen. Data reported as recently as last September tells a different story, but the existence of this data is being ignored. It reveals the existence of an unknown type of storm that forms so fast that it is capable of flash-freezing plants in temperate areas, then leaving them covered with ice that does not melt for thousands of years. Read Whitley's hard-hitting new Journal entry: The Day After Tomorrow—Watch Out! to learn about this data and the terrifying reality that it suggests...and to reflect on the equally terrifying fact that mankind continues to be lulled into a false sense of security by scientists afraid to admit the truth, and a media all too willing to continue to ignore reality.
If the government and the media won't face reality, moviegoers may have to pressure them to change their minds. What did you think of the movie? Please tell us specifically which scenes you liked—or didn't like—and if you think it will make a difference or be dismissed as mere entertainment. Write to Whitley@Strieber.com and use "Film Comment" as your subject heading. We’ll report on your reactions later this week, using only your first name.

PLANET-X'er HAZELWOOD CALLS BATTROS A DISINFO AGENT

Planet X'er Hazelwood Calls Earth Changes TV's Battros a Disinfo Agent
I was following the Earth Changes TV thing and Mitch Battros for a while, curious. They had some stuff about Yellowstone, some stuff about earthquakes. I've been interested in the earth changes idea since way back, when Gordon Michael Scallion first appeared on the Art Bell show in the mid 90s. Scallion's time line was off, but his predictions may yet to turn out true. Who knows?
Then all of a sudden Battros starts saying global warming is a total fake, there is no such thing, and I started to wonder about Battros. I think most scientists of repute have pretty much agreed global warming is happening, and at a much faster rate than previously predicted. The arctic icecap in particular is vanishing at an astonishing rate, giving the polar bears, among others, a very bad time.
In any case this email from a Planet X group caught my attention today. I'm not sure about Mark Hazelwood either. Wasn't he with the Zetas? Then he broke off from them? I don't know, but who can resist a good cat fight, especially in murky realm of UFO sci-fi alien agenda "Nibiru is coming!" fanatics?

Info wars reveal Mitch Battros Classic Disinfo Agent Status
The local disinfo agent Mitch who represents himself as covering earthchange phenomena is being directed to discount his whole gig and attack Art and Whitley and their new movie The Day After Tomorrow, in a rather sophomoric fashion I might add using name- calling with sexual overtones. This is classic disinfo style, along with attacking them for being dumb and having a Messiah complex. All these tactics are standard modus operandi of the disinfo world of which I've watched them use time and time again. In addition he's still implying Art had something to do with the CIA's Heavens Gate deaths and that Hale Bopp had no companion when there were clear pictures showing this. Any LARGE OBJECT, which is what they were trying to cover up with the fake suicides (implying that these expert Heavens Gate programmers were crazy), can many times have a smaller celestial object following it.
Can a disinfo agent be anymore obvious as to who he is? Where is any mention of real earth change information in his attacks?
The Day After Tomorrow has been a little too popular for the ptb comfort.
The point is the media is right in saying the storm in the movie couldn't happen like it has been portrayed. The whole reason for this slanderous campaign is the ptb are fully aware of how it could happen, has happened before, and is likely to happen again soon. Can anyone say passing or impacting celestial objects?
Below is a comment sent to a couple egroups in regards to the over the top crassness of Mitch B.

IOW .. "Those who live in glass BATcaves should NOT throw stones !"
Anyway, why don't you OPEN your mind (?) a wee bit ... Art and Whit are NOT the only ones touting this theory !
And why so mean, Mitch ?? Sounds a lot like Sourgrapenisenvy to me .. LDC)

-------------------------- Art Bell and Whitley Strieber Throw Temper Tantrum.05/31/04 by Mitch Battros (ECTV)
It appears Art Bell and Whitely Strieber are throwing an adolescent fit because no one will take them seriously. Mr. Whitely 'witless' Strieber is claiming "every major media outlet in the world, from the New York Times to le Monde to CNN to the BBC to Fox are repeating falsehoods". That's right, Bell and Strieber are claiming every news agency in the world is "lying" about their book "The Coming Global Superstorm" and the movie "The Day After Tomorrow". Mr. 'witless' Strieber goes on to quote: "The media is flooding the world with the false claim that a storm such as the one depicted (in our book/movie) cannot happen".
Gee, I can't imagine why someone wouldn't take a self proclaimed anal probed alien victim, and a reckless radio talk show host who claims he has "real and true" photos of an alien in a freezer seriously, but this seems to be the fact. I know; it is hard to believe such a wonderful side-show circus team could be laughed at by the world scientific community.
Now, the circus side-show duo would like you to become involved to wake up the world from its silly denial of what they claim as facts. It is unknown if the "facts" include a free peep show of the latest X- Rated anal intrusion from the local alien swingers club. Or if the next comet that comes by such as Art 'dumb' Bell's promotion of Hale Bopp's space ship companion of which was followed by 37 people killing themselves wanting to hop a ride on the sensationalized broadcasting of a "space ship".
Whitely 'witless' Strieber is now asking that you go out right now and pay $10 to go see the movie. No, now come on, it is not to solicit more money from you, or to stop the movie from taking a dive to the number two position, he just wants you to "know the truth". He wants you to see how every respectable scientist in the world is wrong and in denial. Don't you know that the teamed circus-duo are the only truth say'ers. Don't take my word for it, just ask them.
Mr. 'witless' Strieber says: "If the government and the media won't face reality, moviegoers may have to pressure them to change their minds. What did you think of the movie? Please tell us specifically which scenes you liked-or didn't like-and if you think it will make a difference or be dismissed as mere entertainment. Write to Whitley@Strieber.com and use "Film Comment" as your subject heading. We'll report on your reactions later this week, using only your first name."
And finally, Mr. 'witless' would like everyone to know he is willing to accept his 'messiahhood' and lead you to the promised land. Strieber says: "terrifying fact that mankind continues to be lulled into a false sense of security by scientists afraid to admit the truth, and a media all too willing to continue to ignore reality." My Son went to see it and said that it's a piece of junk. The only thing worth while watching is the special effects.
As for me, this kind of film does not affect me and it may even give us clues to what has happened in the past. We all think that we were destroyed by a asteroid hitting earth in the past, but if we look closely at the findings made the dinos found have been intact, it could have been and I strongly resonate with this , is that there was a shift which moved everything on the planet. This could explain why there are so many cities under the floors of the oceans. At least this is what I resonate with, cause they keep coming up with such silly theories which bring on more questions then answers.

I wouldn't call it a great movie by any means, but I wouldn't call it junk either. It was ok.
I liked the love of family and young romance themes, however, there were quite a few cheesy moments when it came to the rest of the movie that I thought were just dumb. LOL
Oh yeah, and trust of intuition, that was a really good theme also.
Most definitely a renter though, when all others have already been rented.
