This Friday's Total Solar Eclipse says, "Open to the infinite possibilities accessible through the heart."

Eclipses involve the play of shadow and light. In a solar eclipse, the Moon blocks the light of the Sun. In a lunar eclipse, the reflected light of the Sun is blocked by the Earth, creating a shadow across the Moon. These are powerful times for clearing, release, balance and integration, both individually and collectively.

There's a foretelling of the August eclipses in the mysterious language of crop circles. Eclipse glyphs appeared in the fields of England last month, hinting at the significance of the alignments. The August 1 Solar Eclipse occurs on the traditional Lammas gateway, one of the four Greater Sabbats in Wiccan practice originating in the British Isles. Divine intelligence is asking us to pay attention.

Cosmic Crossroads

As a species, we're crossing the threshold of a new beginning through the 2012 portal. The Age of Aquarius and the World of the Fifth Sun are whisper-close. The darkness of Kali Yuga is giving way to the light of Satya Yuga. The August 1 eclipse is an important crossroads along the way.

Rarely does an eclipse align so perfectly with a cross-quarter gateway, the powerful mid-points between Solstices and Equinoxes. This spectacle will be visible in nothern Canada, Greenland, Siberia, Mongolia and China, where the Olympic games will begin on August 8. A partial lunar eclipse follows, on August 16.


Both eclipses straddle the Leo-Aquarius polarity, encouraging each of us to embody and express Divine Love more fully, in service to humanity and the needs of the collective. Unlike previous so-called "power dates" for weddings, gambling and the like (6-6-06, 7-7-07, etc.), the numerology of the date August 8, 2008, actually does resolve to an "8," the symbol of infinity and number of manifestation, and it falls midway between the two eclipses.


The Bottom Line

There's magic, excitement and untold potential in all this. Also responsibility. We create through our thoughts, and it's extra-important to maintain positive intent throughout this period, especially during the eclipse portals listed below. Meditation, ceremony and ritual are especially potent at these times. As we transition to the next world age, what are we focused on? What are we creating? Will we choose Love?

This is one of the most meaningful opportunities in recent years to step into your power, embody the great perfection of who you are, and activate a fuller expression of the divine blueprint encoded in your DNA. As we each align with Divine Will through these portals, a new matrix is activated, transforming the human race to an enlightened species that will choose peace and prosperity and freedom for all.


What's Up

Similar issues come around for further "work" with eclipse cycles, so we may find ourselves dealing with challenges from the past, even things we thought were aleady resolved. Eclipse cycles are six months and 19 years, so issues that were up in February 2008, and all the way back to 1989, will be revisited. Let's hope we're approaching these challenges from a more evolved place this time around.

What was happening for you back in February this year, and/or in 1989, that's coming to fruition or final resolution now? Collectively, 1989 was a year of revolution, with the Chinese protests in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, where the opening games of the Olympics will begin August 8. Also that year we saw the non-violent overthrow of Communism in Czechoslovakia, and the dismantling of the Berlin Wall that symbolized the reunification of Germany.

Lying directly in the path of the Total Solar Eclipse shadow, China is again a focal point. Throughout 2008, we've witnessed the unfolding of China's drama as the Communist country seeks to become a bigger player on the world stage. The February eclipse series earlier this year previewed worldwide protests of China's dealings with Tibet. In May, a 7.9-magnitude earthquake devastated the Sichuan Province of China.

The Leo/Aquarius eclipses highlight the need for humanitarian integrity as we enter the Age of Aquarius. In more ways than one, the world will be watching China in August. Will the Summer Games in 2008 be a triumph of the human spirit?

On a personal level, how can we more fully embody the Aquarian ideals of equality, humanitarianism and brotherly love? Are you living your purpose, contributing to the evolution?

Eclipses bring about powerful changes. Meditation helps us align with the higher energies of these planetary portals, especially during the times of the exact alignments. Ritual can be simple: Breathe in love, breathe out peace. Allow love to guide you.

For those connected to the energies of the New Moon 9º Leo - Solar Eclipse, this is a major moment to raise your consciousness and clear that which you are trying to move beyond. Leo is a fire sign and brings things into the light, for some the sacred light. I can 'look out' and see endless souls encapsulated in this energy. It begins now, builds and comes full circle in the energies of the Full Moon on August 16.

I am drawn to the image of Native American energies linked to this moon, therefore I chose the image above for today.

Some may see an alignment of the grids, experience new energies in their physical bodies, have prophetic dreams, or decided to transform their lives. Interesting celestial events, create interesting times.

If for any reason, you are not linked into these energies, don't fret, they are just not your matrix contact points. You will experience at another time, you can bank on it.

At the end of time, it is not about a physical eclipse, but an eclipse of consciousness, a stroke (of midnight) coming out of the blue (navy - sea of consciousness). We are almost there. Look within as your personal barometer.

Cool that you posted that crop circle. I was so surprised when I saw it. Awesome! That's exactly how I felt when I saw this one: surprised. And yet... I know that at some level I was actually waiting for it. For two days before it got posted, I kept mindlesslly going to the site, looking for "something". As though I knew it should be there. When this one was finally posted, sure enough it actually was made two days prior. Right when I started to feel the pull to find it.

Funny... I feel connected to you, Marlies, with these crop circles, somehow. And am not surprised by your urging to color them. Can't explain it well, but whenever I see one, a feeling of you isn't far behind.
