I have my website now for 11 years and I update it regularly, I never write about myself and what makes me tick. So last week I took the plunge and created a blog: dappledair.blogspot.com . Here I write down my day to day musings and happenings and so far I really like it. It is interesting to see what subject I will come up with each day. Some days are harden to find something then on other days a word, a smell, a quote, anything will tell me to use that as my theme for the day. So I wildly jump all over the place. I guess it is just like my thoughts. My dad used to look at my mom and me and said that we would talk in 'crossword puzzles' as we would jump from subject to subject and always knew what we were talking about, but leaving him in the lurch. Hugs, Marlies

You always spark my heart and the fun side of me in your writing and art, Marlies, and I just love it. I check out your blog frequently now, and it always seems to engender a sense of excitement about possibilities in life. (((((Thank you so much))))) for that! I know you're just being you, but that is exactly the point! You're just wonderful and I love that you choose to share yourself with any and all who may be interested through your internet presence. And you have AWESOME recycling ideas, by the way! We're similar in this regard, I love to recycle and often find uses for things other would just toss. Did you end up finding a use for your Inukshuk, by the way? (It's awesome, I just love that!) And one more question for now... I've always wanted to ask you this, though it might seem silly: Where is the emphasis placed in the pronouncing of your name? I've never known another with your name so I have no other reference, and I say it a certain way inside me, but I'm curious if I pronounce it properly. Love you oodles and gobs! Sowelu

Wow, thanks Sowelu for your compliments. Sometimes it is hard to be just yourself as you don't get too much feedback. When I was a kid the feedback was mostly negative, now there isn't much.
Regarding the pronunciation of my name: in my native Swiss German and High German the accent is on the first syllable. Unfortunately, that leads to most North Americans not getting my name, so I have switch the accent to the second syllable and now people get it.
Have a wonderful day!
Hugs, Marlies

My heart desire is that as we move forward more and more people see with their heart and express the love, gratitude and appreciation for life and others far more often, you know? Like you, most of the feedback I've gotten throughout my life has been negative to some degree, when I'm just being myself. Self love has made me immune to the effects of such things, but it sure would be nice to live in a world where our nature compells us to speak from love and emphasize the positive in our interpersonal interactions, in a true way, with heartfelt sincerity, rather than the tendency toward criticism we've grown so used to as a people. Thanks for the pronunciation tip... I hope I understand it correctly. My natural pronunciation has been "Mar-leeeeez" with the accent on the second syllable, basically. Today I wondered if it was more like Marley, as in Bob Marley, you know? Love you! Sowelu

I'm gettin' into the fray here with your name Marlies. I have always thought it would sound like this: MARliss. Am I close? LOL
Love, Lili
P.S. I'm not even going to start about being accepted for who I am. I just ignore it now because it never was so go figure!

Seems we are all on the same wavelength here, little islands happy to be little islands rather than part of a huge landmass.
Ok, about my name's pronunciation, I am not very good at the way you spell / sound words. mar - LEES for English and MAR - lis for German. Hope this helps.
Have a great day!
Marlies
