Hey All!
As we near the end of 2006, the whole "cleaning house" craze has hit me for the Earth Council membership database.
There are quite a few registered users who never activated their account... these accounts will be deleted.
There are many duplicate accounts for a single user, many of those will be cleaned up according to account use. In other words, if you have 3 accounts here, but have only actively used one of them in the last year, the other two will be deleted.
Some people have two ACTIVE accounts, and I'm not clear why that would be necessary, by the way. For those of you who log in as two different users, it'd be great if you opted to delete one on your own, or inform myself or MirRA of your need for the two accounts.
There is no desire to delete those who choose to simply lurk. That's perfectly acceptable "member" behavior, imo, and so I'm doing my best not to delete anyone who, although they have never posted, they have logged on sometime in the last year.
This last category is proving difficult to determine in many cases because we have an option at login to "remain logged in forever", so to speak. So it's tough to tell who actually still comes here and who doesn't. Regardless, if there's been any activity in 2006, the account will remain.
I hope this all makes sense, and if it does not, PLEASE ask questions or send me a PM.
Again... my intent is simply to clean up the database of unused fluff accounts, never activated accounts, and forgotten accounts. It is not my intent to delete anyone still interested in being here in any capacity, ok?
Thanks in advance!
