seems so many are quiet much of the time. even those who usually enjoy trading comments in the groups seem especially quiet lately. i feel quiet too but i also feel a need to share but no one seems much interested.
i was outside after dark and the owls were hooting.
in my area our spring has had quite a set back. it began as a wonderful spring. everything was leafing out. then we had a hard killing freeze. it's been a few weeks now, about since that hard freeze and you can still see the damage. the mighty oaks haven't begun to leaf out again yet. much of the other trees are showing nice recovery so the oaks should not be far behind. it sure turned things around, that hard freeze did.
before the freeze i'd watch the squirrels sitting out on the limbs of the oaks and red buds. they would sit there and dine on the new tender growth. the freeze hit and the squirrels spent much time at the bird feeder. now with things recovering i don't see them as much. that's a good sign. there is food becoming available again.
