I know this is an odd place to put my thoughts on Earth Sea, the movie on Sci Fi from last night.
Earth Sea was about Wizards and Priestesses. It was very cool and replayed the age old stewards of the knowledge vs those who wish to have power saga. At the end, though, it was absolutely extraordinary how it portrayed Emotional Clearing and Integration!!! In his reckless youth the main character, Ged (with a hard G), had summoned this creature who would haunt him forever. He did it out of anger. Anyway, he finally figured out that instead of being hunted he would hunt it to hopefully kill it. When they finally came face to face, though, he realized it fed off of his anger. The creature began taking on the guise of many in his life who he either loved or hated. In an instant Ged released his anger towards these people or towards those who had hurt them. He realized this dark expression was the part of himself he was missing. So he hugged him, and the creature dissolved into Ged's body. And in an instant he was stronger, and had 100% of his abilities and such.
Then, as a fully balanced male, he and the female priestess merged their symbolic halves and created a golden age of peace. It was like the blink described in another thread. Very very cool! I highly recommend seeing it!
One of the real reasons I wanted to comment, though, is because I believe that everyone reaches a certain point where emotional clearing isn't much work at all. You DO understand it in an instant and clear it right there. So I thought this was a beautiful representation of that. It was very cool!
