I am on the phone all day for my job. I've been noticing that a lot of the time I am smelling the person on the other end. Usually nothing nice either LOL. I can tell whether it's their body, breath, etc. And I smell those around me sometimes, but this is different. Weird huh?

Very interesting Nicole,
From time to time I have smells of various flowers and specific perfumes/cologne but nothing like what you have described.

how fascinating - i thought i was the only one! how very arrogant of me, too!
i have been experiencing this for many years, but there is only one smell which i truly dread, and that is lily-of-the-valley, as it always presages a death. if i smell it when someone is near me, without fail it means that person will pass over shortly.

I can't smell people over long distances, like the telephone. But I can certainly smell them when they are not too far from me. I'm highly sensitive to perfumes, hair spray, cologne, after shave, detergent smells at the stores, dogs, food smells, you name it. It's gotten to the point where I can't be around many people at all in public due to all these smells. Gives me a massive headache every time.
Same way with lights. I can't drive at night, the other headlights just cause pain in my head. I have to wear sunglasses when outside most of the time, unless it's cloudy.
Sounds too, I can hear someone breathing when they are in the next room. I can "hear" a TV when it's on, and not due to the volume. It's the static I hear. Wierd huh.
I'm highly sensitive I guess. lol

I experience some of that too but not to that degree Ceara. I guess you're tuning into something the rest of us aren't!

Hi! This may not be related to the smell thing, but did you guys know that there is gate opening sort of in the tip of the nose? I read about this many years ago, the info said that the tip of the nose start to itch and smelling far beyond the distance norm is also a sign of developing this area whicg brings about some sort of powers. Then this reminds of me Bewitched the program on tv many years ago where she had powers by twitching her nose. It would be interesting to find info regarding this, huh?

Here is some info I found on the Nose chakra, it suppose to be a guide. Makes sense when we see some animals using their nose to find their way home... Also in the head... 7) there are two Cheek Chakras, located to either side of the nose and behind the cheek bone itself in the sinus cavities. .....These areas are linked with strength of character, and thus for me, I like placing IV.Emperor here because he too rules by strength of his character. If you link with 'discernment', then this area can work as well as can the Third Eye Chakra. If you think of this area as protecting the face, then you might consider placing VII.Chariot here as "the fence which encloses". As a partner to Emperor, I also place XIX.Sun here for his link to "one's countenance, the face of man'. 8) there are also two Ear Chakras located within the Outer Ear Canal and these have a strong link to the Throat Chakra. There would also be Inner Ear Chakras strongly linked to the sexual organs of both men and women. .....Because 'balance' is associated with both our inner ears and with 'justice', placing XI.Justice here can work. 9) the Oral Chakra is located at the back of the mouth cavity, where the mouth meets the throat and upper sinus. It is here that I place VI.Lovers in a connection with "the sword that cuts" for indeed, words can cut. Some link the wisdom of IX.Hermit to their Wisdom Teeth! Others will link XVI.Tower "the power of utterance" here or lower at the #6 Throat Chakra where the 'voice box' is located. 10) Nose Tip Chakra, anybody who has ever had to sneeze, and pressed the end of their nose to stop it, know exactly where this one is. ....Because I place IV.Emperor at #7 Cheek Chakras, and because I also look to him as 'wisdom', then you can understand that I place XIV.Temperance here for it 'upholds wisdom'. This also fits the saying (for me) "follow your nose". In the Old Path deck, this key is called "The Guide"... and guides lead the way... and so do our noses! <smile> Also located about the face and head are even more smaller points one could use if they so chose to. Across the brows... behind each eye... within the cheeks... along the side of your head especially the one just in front of each ear where the jaw bone hinge is located... at the ear lobes and top of the auricle... along the jaw lines. To either sides of the Throat Chakra. And still more, that my poor art-form can't show. But one could actually match all the 78 cards of the Tarot, just to the various Chakra of the head. www.denelder.com/tarot/tarot051.html Royal Blue / A - Cerebellum – The Nose Chakra The Vibration of Royal Blue brings a deep Peace and Quality Listening time. The Frequency of the Royal Blue is effective on the Ears, Eyes, Nose, Throat and Teeth areas. It is also very beneficial on the Sinuses. This Colour can also help you to remember your Dreams.

good grief! i never knew that there was a NOSE chakra! but it makes sense.
with regard to colours, and the way they smell, for me there are very distinct scents with them. i particularly like the smell of green, which is herby and fresh. like a garden after rain - do you follow what i mean?
by way of veering off subject a little - anyone here able to identify colours by touch? i am trying to teach myself to do this, but not doing too well yet! there are definitely different textures to each colour, but i cant identify them each yet.

I never took noticed of my smelling habits until yesterday when at my condo's office I mentioned that I smelled rust... the lady looked at me and said rust and gave that look of thought trying to pin point the smell herself. She then mentioned that the only think she could think of a rusty smell was a pipe they undug to fix in the pool area. Now, the area is quite far away from the office, I was surprized that I could have picked up that smell...Hehehehe! Maybe we will be able to smell things in other towns too? Wow! Hey Sama, Check this site, very cool info and exercises here, especially for clearing those negative traits in us. www.divinepark.org/emag/emag69_bot.html

'just out of curiosity, has anyone else noticed that colours have very individual smells?'
Yes very much so. It is interesting that if we lose the sense of sight it is combination of feel and 'smelll' that helps the blind visualise the colour. A very good friend of my mothers who was blind could describe colour this way.
