Virgo Hides the Soul[/b][/size]
We are in Virgo, the sign of purity and service. Virgo conceals and nurtures the most important process in the development of consciousness -- that of the Soul. Ruled by Mercury (Sun's messenger), Virgo represents Mary, Isis, Eve and all the Madonnas of history attempting to bring to humanity a sense of virtue, justice (she is still blindfolded), knowledge (Eve), wisdom (Sophia), emotional balance (Isis), and the Soul itself (Mary with babe in arms). The results of their endeavors will flower as the Aquarian Age further unfolds and through knowledge (task of Aquarain Age) as the veils of confusion, ignorance, distortion and misinformation fall from the eyes of humanity
Virgo in the World Religions
Virgo is the sign of the Mother, the Eternal Feminine of all world religions. She is Eve of Genesis (mental plane); Isis of Egypt (emotional plane); Ishtar of Babylon; Minerva of Greece; Maya (Buddha's mother) of India; Astrea, Mother of Justice and the Mother of the World - blindfolded (see paintings of Nicholas Roerich); Ceres, Goddess of crops and mother of Persephone; turreted-crowned Cybele who loved Attis; all the Madonnas of history; and in her present manifestation, Mary of Bethlehem (physical plane). Mary is also Sophia, Mother of Wisdom, emerging to balance the female and male principles as the Aquarian Age more fully unfolds. Throughout all of Mary's historical embodiments the exaltation of the feminine (not gender) principle has been upheld and preserved under the sign Virgo.
Pictorially Virgo (the sign that announces autumn's harvest thus Virgo is the Goddess of the Harvest) is presented as a maiden bearing a sheaf of wheat (from Venus came wheat, corn, bees, ants) in one hand and in the other a blue white jewel representing Spica the 1st magnitude star in the constellation Virgo. The wheat (or corn stalk) and jeweled star carried by many madonnas are not mere ornaments. They illustrate powers gained through purity and the unification of the dual forces of male and female.
Triplicity 666
Virgo is known for her purity and service within form and matter (Virgo as earth sign). Through Mercury, Virgo's personality ruler, the changing of knowledge into wisdom or Soul Knowledge occurs. Virgo is the sixth sign, the feminine principle in service to the Earth. As six signifies service and as the sixth sign (Virgo), the feminine has projected herself three times (666) into the history of humanity, each time "being of service to the development of humanity through metaphor. The number six also signifies form and matter. An odd, distorted and strange situation has occurred concerning the triplicity 666. Thought by the unenlightened, uninformed and uneducated to be the mark of the Beast, the number 666 actually signifies the three levels (physical, emotional, mental) of the feminine side of the personality as it manifests in matter and as it hides Spirit and the Soul.
Six Signifies Form & Matter
Remembering that the number six signifies form and matter and humanity has in the last 18 million years (since the activation of the mind principle) been entering form and matter (the involutionary process), throughout history Mary, always guiding humanity, personified (using different names) these three levels. She was Eve (gathering mental matter, thus the symbol of the apple, the snake for wisdom, and the Tree of Knowledge); Isis (exemplifying the anguish of the emotions seeking her lost husband Osiris; and Mary with Jesus always in her arms representing the birth of light and spiritual life into physical in-form matter).
Mary, of course, means matter (mater). She could not appear as Mary with a baby in her arms until humanity had reached the deepest level of involution (entering and being in matter) which occurred 2000+ years ago. At that time our earth was filled with darkness (distorted thinking). We had forgotten our spiritual origins and within our darkness a Light needed to be anchored on earth so that we could "see our way back home" (to the Father's house). The birth of Jesus (later overshadowed by the Christ), through Mary (purified vehicle), signified the first step in the anchoring of Light and Love which redeemed (saved) earth and humanity (from destruction) for the evolutionary process (Path back to God).
We therefore no longer need to worry ourselves about the number 666 for we know esoterically what it means. It's good to have coded information revealed. It lessens our fear and provides enlightenment for the mind. Also, it's important to realize that numbers veil powers not revealed until the appropriate time. It seems appropriate this year to bring to light the information about Virgo and the numerical triplicity of 666.
Astrea, Feminine Initiate
It is written that as humanity descended deeper into form and matter, the Hierarchy (consisting of both male and female Initiates) left the Earth for other work in the heavens. In the meantime humanity was to be tested as to how well it could handle being in matter without the compete supervision of the Hierarchy (spiritual leaders and teachers). However, Astrea, a feminine goddess (Initiate, teacher) decided to remain on Earth and continue to administer justice until such time that conditions here became so unbearable that she was taken up into heaven to become the constellation Virgo. From here Astrea guides humanity and the world toward justice, goodwill, and Right Relations.
Ancient Temples to Spica
In ancient times temples were dedicated to the light of Spica whose spiritual radiations were recognized by temple builders as part of the mystery of the Immaculate Conception, the main component of which is purity of thought, actions, physical body. What do we mean by purity? First it does not signify what most think of as purity - abstaining from sex, eating raw foods, relentless exercise, excessive water, etc. These are of course physical restrictions and usually one who is concentrating on these alone is preparing for the 1st Initiation. What purity refers to in this text is the 'purity of mind,' which means cessation of mental vexations and extreme emotional upheavals that affect the mind's processes and hinder clear thinking. The statement that energy follows thought is the foundation for the focus on the mental in terms of purity.
The labor-intensive week ahead: Thursday is Virgo Moon with Mercury trine Pluto. An impressive day in terms of the quality of communication. Listen for it. Friday is void-of-course (v/c) from noon till midnight when the Moon enters Libra. We seek balance by restricting emotions and tending to finances. Libra is Ray 3, ray of economics. Saturday Venus joins Saturn. Relationships need clarification, commitments are discussed, and a possible isolation or aloneness is felt. On Sunday, Venus, the Ray 5 planet of science and knowledge, opposes Neptune, god of the waters and all things confusing, veiled, and refining. We could sense romance but Saturn, the Dweller is still at the door, so shadows in relationships could appear or perhaps a bit of confusion. Around lunchtime (Pacific time 12:31 pm) Mercury enters Virgo and analysis, questioning or criticism begins. It need not be difficult unless criticism enters into the focused analytical seeking perfection conversations. There is no perfection but there is purity.
Monday is the feast day of St. Augustine of Hippo (Algerian village), great thinker and theologian, author of The Confessions, considered first Western autobiography (of the Soul). Augustine's birth is recorded to be in Scorpio. Monday is v/c till 12:56 pm when Moon enters Scorpio and everything social slips away. We become guarded in the deep dark waters of the sign of the disciple. Tuesday is the feast day of St. John the Baptist who was beheaded at the request of Salome the veiled temple dancer. Jupiter trine Uranus today and Mars squares Pluto. Very potent transits - the Mars/Pluto being problematic and the type of transit wherein a beheading would occur.
Wednesday becomes v/c at 1:41 pm till midnight. We have no outer direction. Only inward which is what Virgo's task is with us. So we can contact the Soul. We prepare for Thursday's important transit off Saturn opposite Neptune.
