Wednesday, Sep. 19, 2007 - Sun Square Pluto | Today as we reach the first quarter of the Moon, the Sun in Virgo squares Pluto in Sagittarius (and Mars is inching towards his opposition to Pluto.) This is big, a major turning point at the very least; a chance to let go of anything that we may still be clinging on to in the wake of the eclipses.
Pluto always brings us to the point of no return. We can't open our arms to the future, as long as we have our hands full with the past. I know these haven't been the easiest few weeks, and anyone who hasn't noticed the change around them, is probably sleep walking through life.
The Sun in Virgo is pushing us towards our drive to perfection; while Pluto in Sagittarius is asking to let go of old beliefs, and pursue a higher vision. Sun-Pluto aspects have a flavor of a surrender, the ego needs to give way for the phoenix to emerge. Something inside us is undeniably changing, renewing and addressing the balance between personal freedom and our sense of duty.
Courage comes after fear -- someone once told me, and it's true. If we can forgive our own imperfection, (because we are human and not infallible,) we can turn that corner towards the infinite possibility of what could be. This is undoubtedly not going to be the easiest aspect to deal with. Strong emotions are welling up inside, deeply analytical, yet tantalizingly liberating, if only we dare.
Right after the Quarter Moon conjuncts Pluto, Amor conjuncts Uranus in Pisces. This is followed by the Moon's ingress in to earthy Capricorn and Mercury's sesquiquadrate to Pallas.
Amor, is an astroid that speaks of the conditions we place on romantic love and what turns us on. To me this feels like a water balloon that bursts, an explosion of passion, drenching us. Old rules just don't apply anymore, and the overwhelming desire is not something we can confine, or define. Given how much we have changed over these past few weeks, perhaps there is a need to rearrange the way we relate to another.
As the day progresses, we are entering a phase of practical ascension, and a need for grounded emotion. Negotiating and redefining boundaries, in professional personal relationships, seems like the right thing to do. Perhaps it is more a case of understanding the boundaries. Pallas is retrograde, suggesting we may experience this internally as much as externally. Maybe there needs to be an element of equal compromise, validation and consideration towards the needs and feelings of everyone involved.
