Monday, Oct. 29, 2007 | Venus square Jupiter
There's a few potent aspects taking place in the sky today. Venus squares Jupiter and sextiles Varuna today; surrounded by major septiles -- Jupiter septiles Chiron, and the Sun septiles Pluto and the Galactic Core.
Venus, represents how we express our creativity, love and how we relate to our finances. As she makes aspects to Jupiter and Varuna, we have an image of expansion and overwhelming feelings. There is an inner balance we need to find, between our critical tendencies and faith.
In the Thema Mundi, the 6th house (ruled by Virgo) is ruled by Sagittarius, so with this aspect, we get an overlapping expression of this sign. As we resolve our internal battles, we can evolve into a greater feeling a wholeness. Only then can we find the spirit, to take us beyond the challenging horizon, created by our own sense of limitation. There is a real opportunity here, to access the unimaginable and unspeakable abundance of love.
I recently read something about a septile aspect and how it manifests; Which is different from what I had read about the aspect up until now -- that they are sacred, mystical and vibrate on a higher frequency. Ed Gilliam though says of septiles that can tend to emphasis explosions and moments of overwhelming force. I have to admit, my personal experience of this aspect has been a combination of both energies-- great overwhelming force, tinged with the sacred.
The planets forming septiles are major ones, with Jupiter we have magnification, and Chiron we have the opportunity for healing, that can only come through awareness. Sometimes it is only in the middle of a crisis, that we are able to access the strength and spirit, that allows for our evolution to a higher level of consciousness and understanding.
The Scorpio Sun making septiles to Pluto and the Galactic Core (still in a tight conjunction), is bringing us a personal taste of a seemingly distant powerful source of transformative energy. There are some potent forces at work, and this aspect is indeed granting us the almost magical power to reach out and access this core primal power. We are undergoing a process of intensely deep transformation and regeneration.
The Pluto GC conjunction at the time of the Taurus Full Moon was a blast of revelation; the Sun aspects today, reverberate the energy. Mercury stations direct in a couple of days; by the time of the Scorpio New Moon, it will be in Scorpio and poignantly out of echo phase -- signaling we are emerging from the cocoon, ready to take on new territory.
Use the momentum of the aspects to push past the sense of fear, Scorpio and Pluto are compelling change, from the core of our souls to the depths of our mind. We are not being burned, we really do have the opportunity now to rise above the ashes.

A quick update on another fabulous weekend in the Hudson Valley. It had been pissing rain for the past three days here in New York, and the Sun appeared from behind the clouds just as our bus drew into the Kingston bus stop. We went home to cook and eat a delicious meal, (thank you Beth, Eric and Mom) and then sat down to assemble Eric's new desk -- in the middle of which the phone rang with news we had all been waiting for. Chelsea, our PW business manager is now a proud mom to little Scorpio, Eli Henry -- born on the day of the Pluto GC conjunction. So, congratulations TJ and Chelsea - and big huge open armed welcome Eli! Welcome to the planet on behalf of all at Planet Waves.
Sunday was an absolutely gorgeous day, we drove around High Falls to the flea market, scored some great finds (Eric bought me a good old fashioned Parker Pen). Then we drove to Eric's friend Karen's land at the foothills of __, which is truly a little piece of heaven on earth. The mountains were covered with shimmering reds, yellows and greens and the waterfall was lush and cascading diamonds in the sunlight. We made it back to the city early evening, and trekked off to Brooklyn to my brothers place, where Mom cooked another dinner for all of my brothers friends. It was a fun night, social and fitting with the chatty Gemini Moon.
I was exhausted by the time I got home late Sunday night. But there's something about having spent the time in nature, that leaves my soul refreshed and awestruck with it's splendor.
