Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007 | Truth Be Bold
A couple of weeks ago, Eric suggested today be declared International "Truth Be Bold" Day. Here is the chart that's unfolding today. Mercury (7+ Scorpio Rx) sextiles Venus (7+ Virgo) and then trines Mars (7+ Cancer) soon after the Moon's ingress into Capricorn. The Moon will then pass through Capricorn, making trigger aspects to Mercury, Mars and Venus.
Also, there is a Grand Water trine aspect formed with Mars, Mercury and the nodes -- pointing heavily to a feeling of destiny. Then, in a kite aspect to this trine, we have Venus separating from her conjunction to Saturn and the South Node. Mercury is currently retrograde, Mars will soon be stationing retrograde (Nov. 15, 2007), and Venus has just emerged from her retrograde phase.
This is a heavy indication of endless reconsideration on all levels. Clearly there's a lot going on here: these are all inner planets that rule our inner-most processes, suggesting that this story is unfolding in a poignantly personal way. With the Sun and recent New Moon in Libra, our relationships are thrown into the equation. I keep being drawn back to Eric's article as I type this, which is a truly brilliant interpretation of the drama now unfolding. The quest for the truth is getting increasingly too hot to handle.
I'd like to quote the Pronoia Oracle from Robert Brezsny's site. "'Before we can receive the unbiased truth about anything,' wrote my teacher Ann Davies, 'we have to be ready to ignore what we would like to be true.' At the same time, don't turn into a hard-ass, poker-faced robot. Keep your feelings moist and receptive. Remember your natural affection for all of creation. Enjoy the power of tender sympathy as it drives you to probe for the unimaginable revelations of every new moment. 'Before we can receive the entire truth about anything,' said Ann Davies, 'we have to love it.'"
Mercury retrograde in Scorpio is pushing us to dig deeper and to confront core issues. Mars in Cancer may have us feeling rather restless and hyper-sensitive. We could easily get caught up in a futile cycle of suspicion and reading between the lines when the truth is in plain sight -- it's just that that truth is changing constantly. We also need to watch for emotional reactions that are merely a trigger from having been scorched before.
Only too often, people play their cards too close to their chests in fear of what they stand to lose. Right now, we have a chance for a real breakthrough in communication. Even if it means telling another that we indeed don't know how we feel. Intimate partners have a right to know where we stand as much as we have a right to know where they stand. It is only fair.
Venus in Virgo, forming the kite to the Grand Water trine (and in the 12th house at the time of aspect), is what we need to be looking at. This is telling me that we need to be guided by compassion, not criticism; by what we intuitively know is right even if we can't "explain" it; by what we value, a sense of worth; by what we have to offer, rather than what we lack. Venus is beginning a new cycle; so are we. We have the power to create now the future that we want, based on the almost divine, unspeakable silent scream of truth in our heart.
I was picking Eric's brain earlier, and he observed that Venus and Saturn are both bound by Libra (Venus rules the sign, and Saturn is exalted here). With both planets in Virgo, we see the 12th-house theme again, suggesting that there is a restructuring of ideas and unconscious thought patterns taking place. Also, Mercury today exacts a square with Nessus while forming a close square to Chiron. This suggests there are some very key factors that we need to resolve internally first.
Before we speak our truth to another, we need to know where we stand with ourselves. What is it that we really want on the deepest and most primal level? How do we feel about sex, God, death, money? What do we need to feel fulfilled on a soul level? How much of this are we getting in our lives and our relationships now? How much are we willing to compromise? How much do we allow fear to dictate the choices we make?
Another glaring cosmic indicator here is the emergence of the number 7 in the aspects. Seven is considered to be the number with a higher spiritual vibration. There is definitely a feeling of being guided by fate and unseen forces. There is plenty going on under the surface, and all we can do is try to stay afloat in the ever-changing present.
If there is something you need to say, say it. If there is something you want and desire, ask for it. If there is something that you are hoping for, ask yourself what's stopping you from going out and getting it. If you have found the courage to be bold, trust your truth to be your ticket to freedom. Although the truth may take a while for others to adjust to -- especially if it's something they absolutely weren't expecting.
As the Moon sweeps through these aspects, we will be processing these emotions internally. In an earth sign though, we are getting much-needed grounding in this time of incessant change.
Also, the last time Mercury trined Mars was at the time of the Harvest Full Moon on Sep. 26, in air signs Libra and Gemini. Conversations and discussions we were having back then about our relationships are likely to resurface. Only this time the aspect takes place in water signs; this is signaling that we may need to take a deep breath for the long dive down.
We are slowly getting to the bottom of things here, and we may be more deeply involved than we dare to admit. It's sink or swim; the first step is to bring our own truth to the surface.
