An initiation has begun.

Venus rises in the morning sky as Inanna, Queen of Heaven and Earth. Divine empowerment. Embodiment of the Sacred Feminine. Eclipses loom as Venus re-emerges from her journey of the Underworld, ripened by sacrifice and grief. She shines with greater awareness. We are one with her beauty and light.

In the northern hemisphere, Venus' dramatic entrance as Morning Star this week signals the completion of an 8-year cycle and a new beginning. The Goddess of Love and Beauty gently opens our hearts in Leo.

Now conjunct the Sun, her heliacal rise will be visible just before sunrise later this week, near the fixed star Regulus in the constellation of Leo. Talk about majesty. Watch the pre-dawn sky in the east on August 23, 24 and 25. The rising is less predictable than other natural phenomena . . . it could happen on any of these days. The energy builds through these mornings as she prepares for her entrance.

The brilliant spectacle will be a generous reward for those who rise early and have patience as she separates from the Sun in the early morning hours to rise in the pre-dawn sky as Morning Star.

This initiation by Venus serves as a prelude to the eclipse series that begins with a Total Lunar Eclipse on August 28, followed by a Partial Solar Eclipse on September 11. Eclipses break up energy. With the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on August 28, what has been held in the subconscious is illuminated, brought forward for healing.

Following her station direct on September 8, Venus approaches nearly the same position she held during during the Grand Fixed Cross Solar Eclipse of August 11, 1999. Our attention is focused on values, relationships, personal power and freedom. What will you hold onto during these times of extreme change? What is to be released?

The 8-year Venus cycle calls us to completion, resurfacing of issues we were processing at the time of the Grand Fixed Cross Eclipse in 1999. Echoes of relationships and themes from that time enter our awareness. How will we respond this time? What are our values? How are we relating with others, ourselves, the Earth?

Commune with Venus in the morning sky. Journal insights from dreams and meditation. Each time Venus rises from the depths of the Underworld is a special moment of empowerment and manifestation. What we hold in our thoughts is what will be, every moment of every day. Create with intent from a place of divinity.
