SUNSPOT ALERT: The sun is blank again today--but it won't stay that way for long. A new and active sunspot is about to rotate into view over the sun's eastern limb . Tall loops of magnetism herald its approach (see image below), like the sails of a ship approaching from beyond the horizon. Stay tuned for updates.
