I have been having dreams about sex for sometime. But what seems to be a reaccurring dream is having sex with either Holograms or Artificial life forms/robots. Last nights was with a hologram. It was a real and as physical an interaction can get. But I keep having these dreams of these interactions over and over again. I have had these dreams for years and years. A wide variety of them. Ranging from being a girl and having sex, to having sex with my mom., to having sex Girl on Girl..I mean I have crossed the whole gambit just about. Oh and not to mention having sex with holograms and A.I of sorts. I mean I am a virgin still but is this sexual energy playing itself out on the astral plane/dream state or is there some other kind of communication and meaning going on here?
Any and all comments will be greatly appriciated. Thanks.
Peace, Love and Enlightenment,
Ed

(((Hiya Ed!)))
All of the above, most likely. Well... think about what happens in a sexual encounter; Two "apparently separate" entities merge for a while. This is the symbolic meaning behind the literal event. There's a whole lot behind it, too, of course, but that basic, general meaning is true at every level. We are each "apparently in separation" at this level of existence, and everything else is "other". Connecting with, exploring, interacting, integrating, merging, understanding all of this "otherness" is what we do here!
So in dreams, sex often symbolizes "merging with" or "integrating" or "becoming intimate with" ... whatever the other entity represents for you.
When you are not your normal waking self in a dream, you are experiencing through an aspect of self you don't normally "lead with" in life. Like being female, for instance. As a human male, you experiencing a sexual dream encounter as a female can be a way your psyche depicts the idea that you are emotionally integrating (you are "the feminine" or feeling self in the dream, in contrast to mentally processing your emotional experience, which is what being a male in the experience often symbolizes). This feeling self is integrating "X" (whatever the sexual partner signifies for you, from an emotional standpoint).
Does this make sense?
Having sex with your mother is often a way of depicting that you are integrating your [old] emotional authority, or have merged with it, "become one with" what she has represented for you up to that point, etc.
AI's and holograms as sexual partners can represent the concept that you are "becoming intimate" or "getting cozy" with whatever these forms/entities symbolize as ideas/possibilities for you. Whatever that is for you, it excites you and you enjoy the expressive and creative flow that comes from (pun intended) getting involved with it.
However, having said all that, there is also the very simple idea that our sexual energy, which is our "earthly creative energy flow", seeks expression and fulfillment in this world. When we do not do this through our physical form, we will often do it in our dreams. When we have not yet encountered a whole lot of experience in the external world - not just sexually but in any interactive, experiential way - we will often have a surplus of sexual dreams.
It is simply our creative life force seeking relationship with "other". ALL "other". Because through our intimate connection with something "not us", we gain intimate understanding of it, making it a part of us. And that's what we're doing here... unifying all that is, within ourselves.
Hope that helps some! (((((Hugs!)))))

[glow=red,2,300]Hi Ed! I might suggest taking a look at Sowelu's interpretation of my dream, which was posted last May and is under the title "What does this mean"? At the time I was having a lot of sexual dreams myself and some of them involved women, although I am heterosexual. Needless to say I was CONFUSED! Personally I see sex as an expression of life force and creativity. The people and objects involved in your dream may represent aspects of your self that have been denied expression. Some things in you want to come out, and want to come out NOW! Keep searching and exploring, and doing what you are doing. Your dreams are an indication of the inner wisdom that is already in you. And you have the tools, the motivation, and drive to understand and grow. The answers will come to you. Love, -SeaofFeeling [/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Sowelu, when I read holograms and A.I., what came to my mind was something that seemed real but when you reach out to grasp it, there's no substance to it - illusion, really. I'm wondering what your thoughts are on this.
Thanks!

(((Hiya Sea!)))
I can certainly see how that might be, Sea. I can see this is potentially a circumstance for separating out illusion from what's real, sure. And that Ed's dream is revealing that he is currently exploring enjoyment of certain things that are perhaps without substance.
Some sexual dreams are simply "need" expression, some are wish-fulfillment (which serves a valid purpose in our growth), some make statements that jolt us in our awareness... and the list goes on. Because of this, I usually will say "whatever the sexual partner represents for you". Aside from the general symbolic value, or one that seems universal, people have their own flavor of meaning for certain things that show up in dreams, and exploring those is important, you know?
Far be it from me to determine what's real for another, though! ;D If it were my dream, perhaps I'd see those particular symbols as "illusion", but there are at least a few people I know who feel they ARE AI's in human incarnation this time around, and for them... the symbol would indicate something altogether different, you know?
What I know as "not real" is often still quite real to most. Each of us, for instance, is a probe exploring a holographic universe, meaning that we are each holographic ourselves. Does this make us all not real? Illusion? In a sense, yes. In a sense, no. Humanity is a mind-programmed race for the most part, and has been for a long time. This makes our intelligence artificial, in a sense, as well.
You know? So... depending on where a person is in their growth, what they're discovering at this particular time, those two particular symbols could mean a variety of things, essentially.
When a dream is described with as much detail as possible, those kinds of determinations can often be made. "The devil is in the details", as they say. The details reveal so much! Setting, action, conflict, intent, mood, and so much more that help explain the partner symbol.
Love you! Sowelu

[glow=red,2,300]Hiya Sowelu!
Thank-you for explaining this for me. I agree that the specific symbols can mean different things depending on each individual. For me, illusion is what came to mind, but of course that would be specific to my own life. And your point about us living in a holographic universe and being of artificial intelligence ourselves makes sense as well.

What can I say? ...LOL... and also dont make it so complicated for yourself. You think holograms or AIs can't love or have sex? Then think again you might need to expand your consciousness a little bit.

[glow=red,2,300]I'll assume I'm the "someone else", and take responsibility for my question concerning AI's/holograms possibly creating the impression that these things are not real, as experienced by people or as experience-ers in their own right. I'd like to clarify that the reason I posed this question was because I was interested in what AI's/holograms might symbolize in a dream state. In my mind, I make a distinction between objects in waking experience and what they symbolize in a dream-state. Therefore, what AI's/holograms ARE and what they symbolize in a dream are two different things, as I conceptualize it. And, as Sowelu points out, what objects symbolize to one person may be different from someone else, depending on their own experience surrounding the object in question. All experiences are equally valid, of course, and I apologize if my question gave a different impression Love, -SeaofFeeling[/glow]

Indeed, Sea. Seeing the image of someone you know in daily life, in your dream, doesn't mean that person was actually in your dream. The value of that someone as a symbol for you at that precise time and in that particular dream scene... is quite different than the value of that actual person in your daily life on the whole.
This is an area of distinction regarding dreaming and life that many miss or blur. I'll add too that sometimes that is appropriate! And then sometimes it's not.
But working to distinguish various states of conscious reality, and the symbols found in each state as well as their level of meaning particular to that state, goes a long way on the path of enlightenment.
Much love! Sowelu

Ed, Astral sex feels every bit real as physical sex. If your having sex but not in the physical and actually feeling it, then it's likely you are having astral sex. Often there is an arching of the back (forwards or backwards) when having an astral orgasm. Unless your on your stomach, then arching seems less likely. Or standing up arching is less likely. IME
