I experienced a rather strange dream last night and wonder if anyone can shed any light on it.
It started off in a dark attic and I was with a friend and we were preparing to do a meditation.
Scene change to an upstairs room, devoid of any furniture and we were looking out of the window onto an inner London High Street which had seen better days. It was dusk and there was no one around. I asked my friend where we were and she replied that she used to know, but couldn't remember the name of the district.
Next my friend was no longer in the room and I was standing with her teenage daughter? (she actually has a son!) and the daughter was saying that she wouldn't be long. There were now tables and chairs in the room and people having drinks. The daughter and I were discussing something that I can't remember and a man overhead our conversation and marched us into a back room. The door opened on to a dinner party and I got the idea that we were in Morocco or somewhere like that and we were invited to join the mixed group for dinner.
The next thing that happened was that the daughter and I were standing by the dinner table, which I was facing and a man entered the room behind me, he turned me around and announced to his father and the rest of the diners that finally he had found the love of his life and that we would be married and then promptly began whirling my around on the spot. Then I woke up.
Any ideas anyone??

COLOURMAGIC, Wait for Sowelu, she is excellent at dreams. For me this sounds like a past life recollection but I may be wrong..LOL!

Sowy is the best at dream interp. I do know in my symbology that the attic is your superconscious. ;D

Hiya Colourmagic!
I'll offer my view, take or leave as you see fit, of course.
This dream appears to be what I term a "heads up" dream. It's indicating a likely progression occurring within your total self energies. The apparent culmination being that of a sacred union with the masculine half of your energies (Light) that is rightful and enables you to truly spiral upward, as in a vortex or even to "ascend".
The duration of the progression is not indicated. Could be quick, might take years, it's not clear to me from the dream.
The setting sets the stage for the part of your life being commented upon. The attic is often a symbol used to represent "higher self" or "spiritual self". The darkness there indicates that this phase of growth is not in your current awareness... yet. So, the dream is shedding light on the growth path activated in your spiritual self or at higher levels, which you have not been conscious of, thus far.
The friend is a symbolic representation of the part of your energies being raised to a higher level. If female it is likely that she represents a set of feelings that are being transmuted or integrated in this current phase of your growth work. If masculine, it would indicate beliefs, attitudes or ideas being transmuted or integrated.
Because it is a female, you can glean the understanding that this is the start of the changes around this phase of integration/unification in self. This is because the feminine is the "starter fluid" or motivational energies that feed the masculine - mind, behaviors, actions, etc. - when you break things down to their component energetic parts.
So you're at the beginning stage of a new phase of growth, where you'll be processing/transmuting/transforming feminine energies (feelings, emotions, etc.) on your way to a higher frequency vibration, where you will embody a greater light.
Dusk is symbolic of the ending of a relationship, experience or situation, and the feeling I have is that the way you relate with this feeling part of self is changing. (It may or may not manifest in your daily life as changes in the friendship with this actual person.) It's old form is dying, so to speak, but it is being replaced with its very own newer, more energetic, youthful and exuberant form - symbolized by the daughter.
The empty room points to a possible sense of emptiness you feel in self, which used to be filled with a previous understanding of "the high road", spirituality, higher self, who you are in truth, or "High Street in better days". In other words... there's a feeling that you're losing the emotional attachment to an old form of "Higher Beliefs". It's served its purpose well, but is no longer appropriate to the you you are becoming.
The more appropriate feminine energy is symbolized by the daughter of this old friend. There has been a birth and quiet growth in you (over the past few years?) of a newer version of this old friend (emotional attachment), and as you let go the older version, the newer immediately brings you to nourishment, nurturance and sense of unity in self.
Once you communicate with or connect with this newer feminine energy, it opens/expands your mind (male overhears) and whisks you away to a deeper place in self, which you will not feel as emptiness at all, but rather a familial sense of unity, community, connection and abundant nourishment.
Once you reach THIS level in self, you are finally able and ready to connect with your proper masculine energy counterpart, or Light, and merge and spiral upward in sacred union.
Well, that's my take on the dream, Colourmagic, hope you find it helpful! Take or toss as you see fit, of course. Blessings to you!!
Namaste, Sowelu

Sowelo
Thank you very much for this interpretation and it certainly rings true as far as my life has been going in the last few months/years.
I actually visited my friend yesterday evening and related the dream to her and she felt, as did MirRa, that it was a past life experience, and she received confirmation of that too. Perhaps there are elements of both in the dream?
Thanks again to everyone who has responded.

Hi again, Colourmagic!
In my understanding of life experiences in this realm, we are continually cycling through the same "patterns" of experience, though at more and more refined levels. From a linear perspective, we learn and grow through each life, adding new experience choices as we gain knowledge from each previous experience...
But from a higher perspective within our own energy hierarchy, all of the linear lives "we" are living, with their progressive-seeming learning events, are part of a grander plan which is all inclusive. And each life (what we call "past" or "other" lives) relates to each other and interacts one with another, as the entire grand desire for a "complete" experience of this realm manifests.
So the "same issue, new level" is not just what we experience in our lessons within this particular given life (onion peel idea), but extends to our "greater life cycle" within this realm itself. While living "in time", we tend to forget that our "past lives" are not actually past but occurring NOW, from the perspective of our greater self.
Because of this, there is no "other" or "past" life experience that we would recall, that would not directly relate to the experiencing self we are now in this life. And our experiences in this life are directly connected to the other or past life experiences intimately and relatively.
Many people have not developed the depth of symbolic language understanding, nor depth of self awareness, to realize that a past life recall will typically occur at a time when something in their current daily life is in play, escalating in impact as it remains unresolved/unbalanced/non-harmonized.
So the past life memory pops in at some level (flash of remembered insight from previous experience, dream, vision, etc.) to help the current consciousness to connect with the recognition that some emotional/mental energy is in need of healing, or important to address in some fashion.
For some reason, many souls here now are more able to feel and connect to their essence through their other or past lives (could be the thickness or denseness of energies here in this timeline, at this time on earth), so a past life memory will come up to help them connect the dots to what's occuring in their current one.
This lifetime in this era and timeline, for many of us, is the cumulative ending of a grand life cycle in this level of Creation. Therefore, we are "cleaning up our life threads" using this one specific life and all its experiences. This too is cause for other and past life memories to rise to the surface.
However, in the case of this particular dream, the theme is what's important, and I suspect it has occurred a great many times, in many of the lives you've experienced in this realm. It is the theme of breaking through a limitation in belief-borne-of-distorted emotion that was locked into for a time, but is essentially a distortion of truth.
Each rung of the spiral upward will bring these breakthroughs, and they will feel quite similar to another time and place when we dared break through limitations in our understanding and embraced a new and more refined level of truth and light.
As I understand it, offered with love. (((Hugs)))
Namaste, Sowelu

On Saturday evening, my friend and I were discussing Sowelu's reply, and she commented that what she feels is that she was my mother and I her daughter, and when I was looking at "her" daughter, I was actually looking at myself! She also mentioned that on the occasions she's given my healing, she has felt a mother/daughter connection between us.
Just thought I'd give you a different twist to the picture.

How cool, ColourMagic!
So... have you considered the signficance of why the dream came when it did? Is there something shifting for you now, or is the shift the very concept of awakening to this multi-life relationship, perhaps? Sort of a way of tangibly comprehending the "bigger than this life alone" existence you enjoy?
I ask because in my own experience, a dream has an immediate value to daily life, or something else would have been dreamed... you know what I mean?
What I sensed from the dream was that you were expanding your sense of self or moving into a larger perspective, breaking through a barrier or limitation in understanding. Do you feel this has any validity regarding what's occurred since the dream?
Thanks so much for sharing your continued insights!! (((Hugs!))) ;D
Love and blessings, Sowelu

Hi Sowelu
I have become closer friends with this person over the last year. We are in circle together and she has been helping me with meditation practice in order for me open up a bit more.
Funnily enough, I always say that I don't seem to be able to channel, don't feel anything. During the day on Saturday, another friend who does Chinese astrology came over to give my circle a presentation on our individual charts, and also how we relate to each other as a group, and what remedies we could employ to turn a negative situation into a positive one. We have been having a couple of fairly serious personality clashes and abuses of discipline. My friend and her son, also part of the circle stayed for dinner after everyone had left and we had the obligatory post mortem of the afternoon (which incidentally, went very well and was very encouraging). We discovered during the evening that I do actually channel, using feelings, and I have been doing this for a while, completely without realising. So that part is obviously growing.
Another point to consider, I lost my father in March and I think subconsciously, I have been reassessing my relationship with my mother (we've always had a bit of a rocky relationship, mainly because she doesn't understand where I'm coming from a lot of the time). A couple of weeks ago, around the time of the dream, I feel I more consciously decided to try more with her, and when she calls me, be a bit more interested in what she has to say, and be a bit more chatty myself.
What do you think, a bit of both?

It DOES sound like it, I'd say! ;D
And from a soul perspective, perhaps, all of these things are related growth experiences helping you move through old limitations.
Congrats on discovering your channeling abilities! (((Hugs))) Wooohooo for you!
Thanks and love, Sowelu
