Number 8, octagon and Octahedron

Hey All!

Having never really ventured into sacred geometry on this path, and never really being much into math, I found this dream rather intriguing. Upon awakening this morning I realized that I had just dreamt of the number 8, octagons, and then - in a revelatory kind of way just as I was about to wake up - an octahedron.

Incidentally, I naturally woke up (no alarm clock or outside cause) at 8 o'clock this morning!

I thought I'd share about it and post what I've found through quick research, but also ask if anyone else has any intuitions, insights or knowledge of these forms they'd like to share. As I said, I really never got much into this side of things before, so I'm curious.

Here's what I found on a few quick searches:

Octagon - The only thing that comes to me about this is a Stop Sign, indicating things are coming to an end? That's all I have in a personal sense of the symbol, at least.

3 ) Octahedron - an Air-form recognizing the interdimensionality of the spiritual/physical system. The Octahedron goes beyond the three physical dimensions, tunneling into the fourth. It is a vehicle of time travel, of past and future co-existing with the present. The Octahedron creates a matrix for a reality in which the principle law is as follows: present is the visible point (or motion) where the past and future planes of symmetry unite.

The Octahedron is also representative of the solar energies streaming from the "Atana" (solar sun) to the "Atoma" (central sun of earth). The Octahedron is the "Golden Key" to uniting all parts of the time continuum existing within the cosmic/human heart.

I was quite surprised and pleased, frankly, to see the word completion in a description for octahedron. When this year began for me I had a few hints that "completion" was what the year was about. Then I received a gift from someone I never had before, and it was a celtic symbol for completion.

So again, if anyone else has anything to share or add to the idea of 8, octagons or octahedrons, by all means do so!!

Oh wow... I just realized I didn't search on "Octagon", so I did so and found this:

It is a number of going beyond what you know to be your normal boundaries. It asks you to fly to the moon and stop by the Milky Way on your way back. Haha, Thanks Bre! I didn't really connect that we were all in an "8" year, but you're right! And without the words to really convey the feeling, it all makes sense about what's happening now and how 2007 has felt to me for a loooong time. Like "the start" of what I'm really here for... "the new"... all of that. So of course we'd have to have a true "end" before the new beginning!!
