what brings you joy?
for me, joy comes from stroking a cat, from a licky doggy kiss, from a hug from my grandchildren. it comes from a glorious spring day, with blossom on the trees, and the scent of spring flowers in the air. it comes from the sight of a patch of wood violets growing somewhere unexpected, or the wondrous sight of a skein of geese winging their way home at twilight.
what brings YOU joy?

My joy is everything good in my life and around me if I choose to see it. Walking in the woods with my dog, appreciating the buds springing to life on the trees, and the autumn leaves under my feet that are now rotting to feed that tree, those buds and being in awe of how nature loves and nutures itself year after year. Giving and receiving love from my children, my friends and love ones and sharing my life with them. Appreciating life and all that is on this planet and in the universe, for what it is and why its here. Guess what i'm trying to say is my biggest joy is living and being part of all that is. love Ali

Oh nice thread Sama!! that already brought me joy and alot of other things... birds hopping in the grass next to the path I walk when I am on my way to the busstop, friendly encounters with strangers, laughing with friends, seeing a good movie, the nightsky filled with stars and mysterious depths, walking barefoot on the shoreline looking at the wavey sea glittering with sunsparks, stormy weather, wild skies, swimming in the ocean, taking a hot shower with deliciously scented soapythings, touching a loved one, looking into eyes that love me back, sharing thoughts and ideas with others, daydreaming, reading a good book, listening to soultouching music, walking in warm rain showers without an umbrella after a hot summers day, making children smile and share the joy of life with them, great architecture, old castles and ruins that reek of rich history, traveling to unknown places, sunrays shining through the treetops and leaves, dewdrops sparkling, freshly fallen crispy glistening snow... looking at the sky when the snow swirls down on your face, holding hands, the smell of winter, the smell of spring, the smell of summer and the smell of fall , the 'hi' of a ladybug, a connection with a deceased loved one, seeing happy people, a heartfelt hug and a nice surprise and theres more and more and more But I'll leave some for the next person to name Love, Dutch Raven

DutchR, don't stop!! Nice thread, sama!!! Hmmm for me... it gives me joy to think about my secret spot in my imagination.. it has a large swimming hole with woods nearby, and it's always bright with the sun kissing the water.. and the water is always shiny and refreshening. Just very lovely to think of that place. I love looking at art... that just grab my attention. I was in heaven when I was at the Hermitage in St Petersburg last spring If I had to return to Russia, it would be just for that. I love looking at my cats... and having them stare back with their expressive and loving eyes. Imp and I do that, too.. that gives me such joy. It gives me joy to be open with my closest friends.. and to be silly just because we feel like it! It gives me joy to think of people who care about me, and vice versa. I feel happy when I am able to help someone out. Hmmmm.. more to come...

thinking more about it, i think that my most intense joy comes from animals. i feel totally at home in their company, and seeing a pair of beautiful brown eyes looking into mine, and a cold, wet nose pressing in my hand, well, its pretty hard to beat.
although in all honesty, when my grandson says, in his gruff little voice, i yuv you nonna, thats probably the best of all! he has the most wondrous smile, a real ear to ear grin, and radiates joy when he enters a room.

All of hte above for me and ...
The newest thing that gives me joy is ME! Knowing where I have been and where I am now and the gratitude to know I have crossed the line into eternal freedom and can be aware of that and of life itself...MY LIFE, MY state of being and MY inner light...and the peace of knowing I can access this at any time anywhere I am.
And of course my cats my dog and my kids.
