i know this isnt strictly speaking an esoteric post, but it is worrying me more and more.
has anyone noticed the increasing trend towards 'perfection' in people? you are only alright if you are slender, hairless in the majority of places, immaculately toothed, etc. do you see what i am getting at?
i am half waiting for it to be only ok to be tall, slim and aryan, because the way things are going, the super race is going to take over! and i am not really joking about this.
i find it quite frightening that there is absolutely no focus on the spiritual aspects of people, but that it is entirely on the physical.
this seems to be turning the western races into self-obsessed lunatics to my mind. it is just fine to call someone fat, or to abuse them in some other way, because its ok to do this apparently. it is almost as pernicious as racism, and i am absolutely serious here folks.
this virus of perfection is creeping into just about every part of our lives. why are we not being encouraged to become more spiritual? why only concentrate on our physical appearances? there is a very, VERY worrying trend going on here, and i know damned well i am not the only one to see it.
instead of encouraging people to look to their souls, they are being commended only for losing weight, having their teeth straightened and bleached, boobs lifted, etc. so that they conform to some ludicrous sort of 'perfection'. is this why we are seeing such an increase in self-obsession, and selfishness? if we are outside the 'norm' does that make us bad people? i dont think it does, but you would be amazed how many DO think just that.
newspapers write as if those with a few extra pounds, or a lot of extra pounds, are evil, those with physical defects are not considered, and the ageing.....well, they can just go ahead and die cant they?
i would be interested to hear what you guys think. i am deeply worried by this callous, frightening desire to have a race of perfect people. to me, these perfect people seem like perfect robots. soulless.
