Recently I visited my dear friend after many years of not being in touch. My friend has had many challenging events happened in her life. As she toured me through her beautiful home I observed that things were orderly and in place. But, I'm one who has always kept my home as if expecting the holy of Holiest. But, that is just me. As she toured me through her bedroom and approached the closet she warned me that it was not a pretty sight.
Upon opening the closet door and revealing a total clutter of shoes piled right in the center of the floor. The clothes were also in need of attention.
Since our friendship is beyond friends and is more like a sister I pointed out the urgency she should give to organizing her closet. Shoes are and represent the path you walk. They do not need to be fancy but, they should be clean. They take on your weight, they can comfort you, and even beautify your steps as you walk throughout the day. They protect your feet, and they either hug them or damage them.
Friends, take time to organize...this thou we may not take into consideration has impact in our life direction.
You will noticeably see a difference and things shifting for the better once your clothes and shoes are in organized harmony.
Luv Ya!

SPRING CLEANING TIME: THE SPIRITUAL IMPORTANCE OF CLEANLINESS

SPRING CLEANING TIME: THE SPIRITUAL IMPORTANCE OF CLEANLINESS
BY MACKENZIE WRIGHT
Spring cleaning is not something new—it’s actually an ancient concept. Most cultures had a time each year in which whole communities would clean their own individual houses, then work together to clean and maintain the local temple and places of worship. These events usually came at the time of renewal.
In some places, it might have been after winter’s grip finally let go of the land. In other places, it might have been the end of the rainy or dry season. Either way, the cleaning was more than just a practical thing to do—it was part of their spiritual practices.
CLEANLINESS IS NEXT TO GODLINESS
You’ve probably heard that old adage. A lot of people think this quote comes from scripture, but it actually doesn’t. It’s deeply ingrained in the human psyche. Keeping oneself and one’s personal space clean has always been seen as a way of honoring one’s Higher Power, or the universal forces with which one connects.
Everything has energy, even dirt. Keeping your home in disarray with dirt and debris tends to create pockets of negative energy.
Your body is your temple; your home is your shrine. Keeping it messy and disordered would be an insult—an assault on the personal senses. It would denote a lack of respect for yourself and your surroundings, and a lack of pride in who you are.
TRAPPED ENERGY
Everything has energy, even dirt. Keeping your home in disarray with dirt and debris tends to create pockets of negative energy. These pockets of negativity are a bit like spiritual mold—they grow, creep up the walls, start clinging to the curtains, and coat the floor. Before you know it, you’re surrounded by it. Unfortunately, you can’t see it the way you can see mold. Therefore you might go for weeks, months—years, even!—not realizing it’s there.
The effects it has on you can be felt, though. You might experience depression, a bad attitude, restlessness or mood swings. You may be wondering what the causes is—it could be the building negative energy in your surroundings.
Before you reach for the holy water or sage stick, reach for the mop and broom. Before you can spiritually cleanse a room, it needs to be physically cleaned and “aired out”. Mess, dirt and bad odors really interrupt a home’s feng shui.
Just burning some incense is like trying to cover up the stench of rotting meat by spraying air freshener—it may give you a very brief burst of relief, but ultimately the rot will win out. The only thing you can really do is remove the problem, then you can improve the situation.
MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL BEING
The mind can really be affected by clutter and disorganization. It makes the mind race, making thoughts jump back and forth. It makes your thought patterns and plans less efficient than they could be because you have tons of visual distractions surrounding you. Some days you feel a bit like the duck in a shooting gallery. Every time you head in one direction, something hits you – ping !– and you change course toward something else. Before you get to your destination, ping! You change course again. You never feel like you get anything done but you waste a lot of energy.
If you want to calm your mind so that you can focus and think better, get organized. This is especially important if you have a chemical imbalance, learning or behavioral disorder or if you suffer from depression and compulsions. Organizing your surroundings help you to organize your mind and thoughts. This foundation of good spiritual health is good mental health.
So don’t take your spring cleaning chores lightly this year—see yourself as a spiritual warrior. Your mop is your weapon, and your dustbin your shield. Go on the attack and help get your life in order so that your spirit can find peace.
