It is the first Full Moon free of eclipse intensity in over six weeks, and you feel as if you standing waist deep in a murky lake of sludge, looking for the quickest way to dry, clean land. This eclipse season brought a lot of toxic waste to the surface and now it is up to your sensibilities to decipher the best way to navigate the obstacles and clean off any residual mess. At 22 degrees Capricorn, the ego and the emotions are united and protective about the present career position, any difficult issues within the more intimate of connections and how you are being judged by the public at large. Issues relating to the paternal or the traditional male role influence are also in focus, with this theme intensified with aspects to the South Node, Sedna and Eris.
Looking towards the Full Moon in Capricorn quincunx to the South Node, and there is a complex situation where compromise is difficult to find. In this instance, the South Node relates to information and communications with difficult others, who have no intention of seeing your side of the situation. The quincunx aspect is unnerving as the solution to tensions is often illusive. In this instance, with Saturn’s hold on the Moon and your emotions, you are to deal with situations as they arise with confidence and calm authority. Be in command of your emotions and avoid the surface impulse to change course or dabble in petty quarrels of insignificance.
In trine to the Full Moon is Sedna, the heavy energy of loss and disappointment in the traditional male life role, which can descend on positive intentions like a dark cloud of despondency. This can relate to the paternal influence, but also to any authoritarian connection where there has been neglect and power abuse of some sort. You feel deeply where you have been unsupported in the arena of confidence and ambition, and where you have strived to gain attention only to be ignored. With Eris being the apex of a t-square this Full Moon, the ego and emotional self are cut to the quick where those in power have dared to cause situations where you have felt isolated, or unworthy. Such tough and intense emotions make it very easy to buy into the vengeful possibilities highlighted by Eris.
Saturn, the ruler of the Full Moon, has finally moved off that 10 degree Libra point and life work will begin to progress. In opposition to Black Moon Lilith and in trine to Pallas, where there has been a simmering pot of suppressed anger, hopefully, you have found a positive means of releasing these emotions. As deceptive and toxic situations have been brought to the surface, hopefully, you have faced your demons and negative others, looked them square in the eye, let go of the negativity and found a satisfactory point of closure. Hopefully, you have gained a deeper understanding of the events involved and disengaged yourself from energy and individuals that have been holding you back. If this has not been achievable, you can expect more anger hot spots via confrontations with difficult others and resistance or lethargy regards your aims. Regardless, certain elements of this present energy stand to be themes raised once again in November with the Sagittarius Mercury retrograde and New Moon eclipse. That is inspiration in itself to take a more pro-active part in your healing processes and rid yourself of the toxic negativity raised this last few weeks.
Astraea is a major influence this cycle and posited in Cancer, is focused on the home and intimate climates, seeking to bring balance and order within. Here, you want beauty, love, respect and for life to run in peaceful order, which is a difficult enterprise when you add others and their own individual quirks. In square aspect to Uranus, you are to wade through the superficial and momentary upsets of the moment, and focus on the important and life changing matters. This is a cycle to be concerned about the mortgage and job security, or betrayal or abuse within relationships that have years of history, and the improvement of out-dated traditions. Whilst concerns such as romance, creative expression, career aspiration and other emotional upsets are important, it is the above concerns that should be the priority of your focus.
Mercury in Leo has hit the 18 degree point and also the date that the shadow zone for his Leo retrograde begins. Nice. In sextile to Mars in Gemini, there is much surface activity and chatter, often about everything and nothing that can head nowhere fast, if unguided by self-discipline. With Mercury also in opposition to Vesta in Aquarius, you can be prone to snap decisions about giving up and quitting long term aspirations that are taking a dedicated effort and lots of unrewarded hard work to achieve. With Hygeia in Scorpio, retrograde, you can find that the voice of criticism regards past efforts or deemed failures, is one loaded obstacle. This energy pocket will be a true test to your resolve when you face the negative opinion and resistance from verbose others, and the voice of your own insecurities.
Venus at 13 degrees Cancer is also concerned about the health and well being within your intimate sphere. She wants nothing more for you than what she would want for herself, to be surrounded by the basics, which are love, adoration and genuine nurturing support. In square to Black Moon Lilith however, you can be faced with jealous and competitive others, and the darker shadow of the vindictive type. So, whilst you are dealing with confidence issues, thanks to the negative male input that life has handed to you, this square brings along the dark mistress, who will no doubt ruffle your balance when you need it the least. As if you did not already have enough on your plate!
Looking towards the asteroids and Asteroid 407 Arachne is conjunct the Cancer Sun at 23 degrees and in opposition to the Full Moon. There is an aura of challenge and hubris surrounding your talents this cycle, with your facing jealous opposition and negative opinion from others. You can react from ego and clash harshly with this resistance, defiant and proud, dealing with the consequences as they unravel. Or, you can ride the emotional angst with a quiet tongue, not rewarding bad behaviour with attention, and continue along your with your talent, allowing your brilliance to shine. Obviously, if attacks against your skills enter the defamation, slanderous or harassing arena, do not hesitate to seek legal advice and nip this attack in the bud. Asteroid 4543 Phoinix sits conjunct Arachne, and whilst it is not mentioned to be named as such, we can adopt the beauty in the belief that from any hardship raised regards your talents, you will rise from the ashes and be reborn, better than ever.
In opposition to Saturn is asteroid 13 Egeria, a nymph and minor Goddess attributed with the gifts of wisdom and prophecy. Follow your instincts within intimate relations and whilst dealing with public enemies, especially the inner voice of warning that holds you back from taking negative action. Pace yourself and look to the possible long term consequences regards your inner thoughts and any possible long term negative impact.
Asteroid 588 Achilles at 7 degrees Cancer sits conjunct Astraea, gifting your fight for righteousness with the bravery and strength to face challenges as they arise. As the student of Chiron, an active force with this cycle due to aspects with Pluto and Astraea, Achilles is symbolic for the wounds gained by excessive ego reaction and focusing too heavily on options of fame and superficiality as a measure of personal success. Asteroid 1388 Aphrodite is in opposition to Chiron, indicating that you are forced to deal with others superficiality or that you face the surface reality of certain desires. This can be a tough energy to deal with when you see that your present love potential is only in it for the sex or the good looks, or that your career success relates more to who you know, than what you know. However, this glimpse into the reality of the moment is essential information to know regards your present choices.
Chiron is also impacted by the influence of asteroid 173 Ino, the mortal Queen of Thebes who was later immortalised and became the Queen of the Sea and a divine maenad, or worshipper of Dionysus. It is stated in myth that the maened’s of Dionysus were known to tear their children apart, limb by limb, when under the influence of madness. You would need to take care when indulging in the sweetness of wine, as decisions made whist under the influence could well be a source of later regret. Also in aspect is Chiron is asteroid 7 Iris, the Goddess of rainbows and the divine link between mankind and the Gods. This influence indicates that your guidance is strong and that you can expect positives to arrive after the storm here, so do not lose hope if dealing with difficult energy.
Two asteroids that are quite the concern and worth the mention are asteroid 464 Megaira, retrograde and at 17 degrees Sagittarius and asteroid 466 Tisiphone at 23 degrees Gemini. Asteroid Megaira is the Fury who represents the long-term grudge and forming an opposition to Mars, you could find yourself dealing with communications from long ago, where an individual has just not let go of the entanglement. You do need to deal with this situation with compassion, but also with a firm protection of what is fair and just regards your boundaries, reputation and legalities too, when considering other aspects. Asteroid Tisiphone raises anger around the childhood experience and where the parental and intimate sphere has failed you. This asteroid ‘may’ also re-ignite a conflict that began during, or just after the Sagittarius eclipse. Again, confront these issues where you know you will be heard and appreciated. Look for alternative avenues for healing work when you know that your efforts for recognition of responsibility will fall on deaf ears.
All in all, this is a productive lunar phase when you approach the energy with the attitude to work with it. You can expect some level of emotional upset if you are forced to deal with difficult and spiteful others, and moments of sadness if reconnecting with heavier memories of loss and disappointment. Hopefully, you have faced all of your demons during the eclipse season and this cycle is more focused on highlighting productive ways for you to improve your life position and increase your confidence. If not, and you are still haunted and confused, tackle one concern at a time and find a trusted source in which to confide your issues. Whilst you may find yourself set to repeat, talking about your upsets here in a loving environment is very therapeutic.
