Is It a Kundalini Awakening?
Read what Stefan Nadzo has to say:
"There are a couple of books out by scientists that have studied this process that confirm the physiological _expression of the process; one in particular called Kundalini: Psychosis or Transcendence by Lee Sanella was a godsend when I stumbled across it. I of course can only speak from my own personal experience and how I used the event. I initially struggled with the change that this instability brought me, as of course, we all naturally do. (I kept moaning about the fact that I couldn't do what I "normally" did.) This was, of course, a profound lesson in itself for me at that time in my life. I found in my own case that the process turned a corner when I surrendered to the instability, the helplessness, and assumed that somehow, somewhere, this was "good" for me. Indeed, in retrospect, it was transformative. If it is kundalini, the movement of energy needs to be accepted and nourished, not resisted. The resistance in fact aggravates the process.
Accompanying all of this is usually seeing lights, blobs of colors, an overwhelming sense of fragility, intense headaches, weeping, a sense of expansion, usually felt in the head, and usually, electrical sensations throughout your body and often a sensation of heat, either localized or throughout the body - kind of like menopause. (I remember reading during my own event the book by Bernadette Roberts, can't remember the title, a woman who had her own kundalini event and thought she was going nuts, and felt strange bodily sensations, including heat and energies, and attributed it to menopause.) However, each individual is unique, and some things happen to them, and some don't. Doing the spiritual work you have done sort of puts you in the position of this kind of thing happening, if it hasn't already happened. There are other signs as well, but these I've listed so far, are sort of universal. "

Is It Spiritual Awakening?
This is what Lily at My Pathways has to say:
"Awakening
As you become Spiritually Awake, you may experience physical and emotional discomfort. In time these changes will pass and you embrace your Life's Purpose with great joy and love. Below are indications of the Awakening Process. These symptoms are common to all Light Beings, including Starseeds and Indigo Children.
Body Aches And Pains Especially in the neck, shoulder, and back. This is the result of changes at your DNA level as the "Christ Seed" awakens within.
Physical Manifestations Intense energy in the hands, feet, aches in the bones, headaches, backaches, neck pains, flu-like symptoms (this is called vibrational flu), digestive problems, muscle spasms or cramps, racing heartbeat, chest pains and infections, increased mucous, changes in sexual desire, numbness or pain in the limbs, and involuntary vocalizations or bodily movements. You may even have childhood ailments reappear. Seek medical help if you believe it is needed. If you have determined that this is not a medical condition, realize that it is only temporary. The symptoms will subside as you embrace the new energy.
Emotional Roller Coaster You are releasing your past (this lifetime and others). This causes feelings of sadness, anger, and depression. It is similar to the experience of moving from a house where you lived for many years, to a new house. As much as you want to move into the new house, there is a sadness in leaving behind the memories, energy, and experiences of the old house.
Accept these feelings and then release them. Feel the emotion in your Heart Chakra. Expand the sensations to all of your energy fields. Breathe deeply from the belly to your upper chest. You are beginning to let go of the past. Decide to release old issues and ask your Higher Power to assist you in the process. Most of these unsettling feelings are linked to letting go of relationships that no longer serve your new energy frequencies.
Resolving Past Relationships Lingering karmic issues must be resolved. Perhaps you need to work through past relationships. Or maybe personal issues of self-worth, abundance, creativity, addictions, etc. Resources and people become available to help you resolve old karma. Rather than becoming overly involved in the past, send love to it. Give thanks for having the opportunity to learn and grow. You have the opportunity to release energy that does not serve your new vision.
Crown Chakra Activity You may experience tingling, itchy, prickly, crawling sensations along the scalp and/or down the spine. A sense of energy vibrating on top of the head, as if energy is erupting from the head in a shower. The sensation of energy pouring in through the crown chakra is called "sprinkles." You might feel pressure on the crown, as if someone is pushing a finger into the center of your head. These sensations mean that you are opening to receive Divine Energy.

Change In Weight Some of us may begin to gain weight. Others may lose weight. Weight gain is associated with suppressed fears. These fears are in need of healing. We react by building up a defense in our bodies. We might also attempt to ground ourselves or provide bulk against increasing energy frequencies in our bodies.
You will lose the weight when your fears have been integrated. Release your anxiety about weight gain. Exercise is important at this stage of development.
Before eating, try this: Sit at the table with an attractive place setting. Light a candle. Enjoy how the food looks. Place your dominant hand over your heart and bless the food. Tell your body that you are going to use the food to nourish it, but that you are not going to use the food to fulfill your emotional hunger. Then pass your hand from left to right over the food and bless it. You may notice that the food feels warm to your hand. Enjoy the blessings before you.
Shift In Eating Habits You may experience strange cravings and/or odd food choices. Some find they are not as hungry as they used to be. Or hungrier. Give your body what it needs. Practice the "Food Blessing" above.
Heightened Senses Increased sensitivity is part of the awakening process.
Vision Sore eyes, blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent. When you close your eyes, you no longer see darkness, but redness. You may also see geometric shapes or brilliant colors and pictures when your eyes are closed. Colors appear more vivid. For example, the sky might look teal or the grass an amazing green. As you become more sensitive, you may see shapes or outlines in the air, especially when the room is almost dark. When your eyes are open or closed, you may see white or gold shapes in your peripheral vision (these are your guides). Your vision is changing and you are experiencing new ways of seeing. Hazy vision may be relieved by yawning. Drink lots of water for dry eyes.
Hearing Increased or decreased hearing. Other symptoms are hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music, or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring, or ringing. Others have what is called audio dyslexia. Those with this condition cannot always make out what people are saying. It is as if they can no longer translate language. Some hear strange voices in their dreams. Remember, there is nothing to fear. Surrender to these sensations. Your ears are adjusting to new frequencies

Power Surges You may experience heat from head to toe. Or perhaps you feel cold sensations. It is a momentary feeling, but uncomfortable. If you are an energy worker, you may have noticed that the heat running through your hands has increased. This is good. If you are uneasy with the new energy, ask your Guides to assist you in adjusting the temperature.
Teachers Appear Guidance is everywhere. The Spirit is available to help you awaken. Teachers are people, books, movies, events, Mother Nature, etc. Teachers may appear to be negative or positive when you are trapped in polarity thinking, but, from a transcendent perspective, they are always perfect. Absorb the learning and then move on. We will only receive what we are ready to master. Each challenge presents an opportunity to grow spiritually.
Living Your Life's Purpose You realize you are finally discovering your purpose on Earth. New skills and gifts are emerging, especially healing ones. Your life/work experiences are converging and starting to make sense. Your passion becomes your guide. Go within and ask your Higher Self, "What is it that I need to do?" Watch for synchronicities. Listen ot your inner being. Our Life's Plan always involves something we love to do. Allow your new, radiant Self to emerge! "

Is it the heat of the higher spiritual worlds?
Hear what Meishu Sama has to say: Description of the Spiritual World
"There are nine major strata in the spiritual world, three in the upper plane, three in the intermediate plane and three in the lower plane. The primary difference between various strata or planes are those of intensity of light and heat, the lowest level is pitch dark and has no heat at all, while the intermediate plane is somewhat similar to the physical world. We find both very happy and fulfilled individuals and extremely unfortunate people in our physical world. They are living in circumstances whose vibrations correspond to those of heaven or of hell in the spiritual world. In the highest area, often called the first heaven, light and heat are extremely intense, so those who live there are almost naked; this is why the most divine beings in old paintings and sculptures are usually unclothed. If a spirit in hell were able to visit this heaven, the moment it arrived it would be dazzled by the strong light, would be unable to bear the heat, and would hurriedly return to its regular place in hell. You can easily understand this situation if you will imagine a person born to a low position suddenly being promoted to a high rank or office; such an abrupt change would make him feel uncomfortable and uneasy, thus causing him suffering instead of pleasure. The light and heat decreases in intensity in the second heaven and still more in the third." www.spiritwheel.com/mssprlm.htm to read more by Meishu Sama

Is it esoteric Astrology? From the writings of Alice Bailey "Aries is also the purveyor to our solar system of Fire (Electric Fire) and of the dynamic nature of God which has in it the qualities of fostering and nourishing heat and also of the fire which burns and destroys. From the standpoint of esoteric astrology, there are three major signs in which the "three deaths" are undergone: Read more by clicking this link: beaskund.helloyou.ws/netnews/bk/astrology/astr1040.html

Is it chi generation? Read what "solstice has to say: "Have you ever tried to control your body’s response to cold by making an effort to create an “inner fire"?
Last winter, I had the occasion to be organizing some tools in an unheated structure. The temperatures on that day were in the mid twenties. After about forty minutes, I started to get very cold. My immediate inclination was to leave, but I wanted to finish what I was doing. I don’t know why, but at that moment, I thought of the reports that I had read about the aforementioned monks who were able to tolerate the cold.
So I decided to try an experiment. I sat down on a wooden chair and started to do my internal Qi Gong exercises. Oftentimes during regular Qi Gong practice, I notice my body temperature rising. I determined that I would try to induce that same kind of heat while sitting in the cold of the room.
I started to try to generate Chi. I reached into the recesses of my consciousness and visualized so-called “universal chi” flowing into my body. My initial focus was on my hands. Within about five minutes, I felt a great amount of heat flowing into the thumb of my right hand. Within a few more minutes, I felt the same intense heat in the thumb of my left hand; then my entire right hand started to warm, and that was followed by the warming of my left.
Although both hands became hot, I was still cold in other parts of my body. I next started to feel warmth in my right foot. Now, at about that moment, I glanced at my watch and saw that I was running behind schedule and that I needed to leave, so the experiment was prematurely terminated. Yet, as I sit here, I’m confident that I could have warmed my entire body. To me that was an amazing experience. I don’t really have a good reason for not following up on that original experiment. The downside of the process is that one has to be in a kind of meditative state in order to bring about the warming, and that would be impractical if one had to be focused on other matters. Nonetheless, it demonstrated to me that the power of warming the body is something that can be learned by most anyone who is interested."

It seems to me that there are so many ideas on the creation of physical heat that there is definitely a greater explanation for it than the one women my age get from their general practitioners, "Its just your hormones."
I hope I have enlightened you to the bigger picture and have helped you to see the spirituality and the healing power of heat in your daily life.
Namaste!

Well this explains it to me. I have to wear sun glasses even in the rain sometimes due to extreme light sensitivity. I have always had photosenitive eyes but now it's much worse. Also so sensitive to the computer and vision is impossible.
AND, I'm so hot now that I am glad I don't have a job in the world and can indulge myself in staying in my house and walking about with almost nothing on most of the time.
Buddah, here I come!

[/color] Hi Lun, I have done this kind of thing and not in meditation. when I used to live in Canada I met a Newfoundlander who was a sailor, who told me when he got cold he would picture a hot flame in his midsecton. Like third chakra area and it would warm him.
I have done this and it's works great. It does take concentration but not a long time and doesn't have to be done during meditation
Also have used this when I am over heated in reverse and imagined ice coolness inside and have been able to cool off.
For me it is easier to warm up tho'. Heat is a tough one for me. I really don't do well when I am too warm. I think it has something to do with feline genetic disposition although you might think the opporsite as cats in general are attracted to the warm sunny spots.
But they can't get too warm or will overheat and die.

WQ, That's because we cats don't sweat. Meow, when I was a young kitten I used to lay out in 90 Degree weather to get my fur tanned. Now I cannot stand the heat at all. I get vomity. ;D

Hi Lun, I remember trying to lay out in the 90 degree weather to tan my fur and all I got was crispy, stinky fur.
Not fun. I remember a friend of mine, who in retrospect must have been a cold blooded reptile, who used to cook herself with baby oil in the sun. She would litterally fry herself and would sizzle.
Me, I would frizzle. I never liked the heat, always could sweat and have perfected the art of sweating through girlopause and now still hate the heat.
Meow kitty kitty. WQ
