New Moon in Virgo
Tuesday, September 14, 7:29 am PDT
The New Moon in Virgo is usually a sedate event, a careful readjustment or two, taking a new course, or buying a new tool are often enough. But this one is jam packed with power as Mars and Jupiter join the lunation while Pluto squares it. It's a time to bring ourselves to higher levels of expertise and efficiency, and this might require cutting out an old habit or two. Pluto brings power struggles so, if you're picking a nit, make sure that attention to a detail is more than a means to control or criticize.
Sun in Libra
Wednesday, September 22, 9:30 am PDT
The autumnal equinox (vernal in the southern hemisphere) turns the season and our attention to rebalancing relationships and bringing more beauty into the world. Peace and harmony are the goals here, served well by listening more carefully. But excessive concern with avoiding conflict can lead to indecision and miscommunication. Smile when you mean it and stand up for your rights, not just those of others. Jupiter and Mars close to the Sun encourage diplomatic efforts to heal wounded relationships.
Jupiter in Libra
Friday, September 24, 8:25 pm PDT
Expansive Jupiter feels less crowded here than in Virgo. New horizons open for learning, travel and building bridges between contrasting beliefs and values. A desire to understand opposing points of view can reduce the extreme judgment of religious, political and philosophical prejudice. A more generous attitude about relationships increases the likelihood of establishing new alliances.
Mars in Libra
Sunday, September 26, 2:16 am PDT
The warrior planet Mars joins Jupiter in the harmony sign, making this a time to lay down arms and join hands with the enemy. Yet, this isn't about being wimpy or simply surrendering to others. It's about concentrating efforts on graceful expression to bring more elegance into life and enhancing teamwork.
Chiron Direct
Sunday, September 26
Direct movement by the Wounded Healer brings unresolved issues to the surface where they may be addressed more effectively. Recognizing that pain needn't be a barrier to growth or happiness allows us to remember the past without being limited by it, but instead, to learn from it.
Full Moon in Aries
Tuesday, September 28, 6:10 am PDT
Emotional independence is essential to the Moon in Aries, in contrast to the Sun in Libra's need for partnership. With Mars, Aries' ruling planet, and Jupiter conjunct the Sun, we can expect plenty of push/pull between the urges to go solo or team up with someone. This dance of I and Us is a natural part of relationships, so allow yourself the space to be both selfish and sharing, insular and open, cooperative and competitive.
Mercury in Libra
Tuesday, September 28, 7:13 am PDT
'I've looked at life from both sides now,' from Joni Mitchell is as good a description of Mercury in Libra as any. Indecision is the downside here, but open mindedness can enhance communication necessary to build relationships. With the long period of Mercury in Virgo behind us, we're open to seeing the potential of new patterns, rather focusing on the flaws of the old ones.
Venus in Virgo
Sunday, October 3, 10:20 am PDT
Ok, so it's not all hearts and flowers now. Romance requires good health and hygiene, love doesn't come without work. Someone's going to have to clean up after the party. As always with Virgo, the key is to take positive steps to make things better, rather than criticizing what isn't perfect, especially yourself.
This New Moon is powered by gas guzzling Jupiter and Mars, a rather unthrifty pair for usually cautious Virgo. Applying all this horsepower carelessly can be a considerable waste of time and energy. With Pluto lurking around the corner (square the New Moon) vengeance could be an unseen player in the game. Bringing fears and desires out in the open where they can be addressed directly reduces the chances for deception and disappointment. Passion shouldn't be repressed, even in delicate circumstances, it needs to be harnessed and focused where it can serve individual and collective goals.
Have a great month!
