Crystal Star Oracle Interpretation for December 2004:
Have you ever worked up a good head of steam for a project and then found your excitement petering out as you get into some of the more mundane work involved or you run up against a seemingly insurmountable obstacle? Everyone has faced this challenge at one time or another. This month the Crystal Star Oracle is about perseverance, strength and commitment, and these qualities are certainly important in achieving any long-term goal.
Everyone has been working hard this Fall, making choices about how their lives should move forward and then investigating ways to make those positive shifts happen. Now we face the challenge of moving along and dealing with the daily efforts required order to assist these changes in coming to pass. Yes, I know this may seem like a "thankless task", but in truth it's an important part of the quest. The "Big Book" of AA calls this aspect of our quest in life "trudging the road to happy destiny."
Working hard at something, even when it isn't all happy and comfortable, is what makes stories like The Lord of the Rings so inspiring to us. Such a story wouldn't have been very captivating if the main character, Frodo, had just skipped over a nice sunny path to the bad guy's castle to blithely, and from a safe distance, toss away the offending ring. Much of the joy we receive upon completing a task or accomplishing a difficult quest comes from knowing that we persevered through thick and thin, through both excitement and boredom, until we won our prize.
This month your Area of Responsibility Card is the Tenth house of achievement, career and reputation. Capricorn is the Astrological Influence Card for December and it signifies it's time for patience and determination on your part. You may desire to create structure around your goals and to become as organized as is possible. The energy of Capricorn is also one of achievement and ambition, and these are generally good attributes to work on. What you will desire to watch in this process is that you avoid becoming too rigid or calculating in your thoughts and actions.
Much of your activity at this time will likely be centered in and around the home, a place that you have hopefully come to regard as your own private sanctuary and altar to yourself. Maybe this is a time when your home-life or environment needs a bit of restructuring so that it more clearly reflects not only who you are, but also who you are choosing to become. I had a friend who would frequently tell me that if I wanted to be different and have a different life I had to "act as if" these things had already come to pass for me. This woman wasn't a metaphysician, but she definitely had a grasp on how dreams become reality. And now is the time for you to "act as if" within the sanctuary of your home, as well as in all areas of your life, and begin to claim the positive changes and benefits as your reality in the NOW.
While orange is not a color we often associate with the holidays, it is an important color for you to employ this month. Orange represents the spleen chakra, also called the creative chakra, which is about money, sex, emotions, relationships and creativity. This certainly relates to your home-life with all of its many demands. The color orange stimulates your ability to work well in these areas and helps you to recover from periods of low-energy. So even though Orange is often considered a fall color in the Northern Hemisphere, find some creative ways to bring it into your home during December. Little splashes of Orange around your house will remind you that you are supported and will have the energy you need to persevere. You can also imagine yourself being filled with Orange light until it seeps out of your pores. Or you can find an Orange scarf and put it over you while you lie under a light (an Orange light bulb will work, too).
When you are involved in all the minutiae necessary to move towards a desired goal, the prize can often seem so far away that the tasks at hand appear to be even more onerous. So, this is the perfect time to find your piece of dark green bloodstone and put it in your pocket during your daily activities. Bloodstone is known as the stone of courage, and perseverance in the face of the tedious and ordinary is an act of courage. Bloodstone can also be useful in removing obstacles that may have stood in your way in the past as well as help you to maintain a state of honesty and integrity.
Lapis Lazuli is an ancient and beloved stone of the Egyptians, who revered it for its alleged abilities to enhance psychic power, clear one's being of discordant energy and induce a state of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual perfection. Wear or carry a piece of Lapis Lazuli on your person this month so you can touch it whenever you feel lost or overwhelmed. The deep blue of Lapis Lazuli will not only remind you of your perfect self, and the blueprint you have created for your future; it will also provide you with sacred subconscious knowledge to assist you in achieving your ultimate goals.
And finally, you can receive rejuvenation and protection in the form of Red Jasper. Red Jasper is a stone valued by many Native Americans as a sacred stone for use in ritual and healing. Keep some on your desk at work or on your bed stand at night to help you maintain a sense of being grounded and centered. You will have the added advantage of its deep red-orange color to provide you with strength and rejuvenation. Red Jasper will clear and protect you from negative energy and will give you strength when the path is steep and the going slow.
As you travel the road toward your goals the path may sometimes be smooth, and sometimes rocky, sometimes twisting and turning, and sometimes downright maddening. Remember that you are on a quest, participating in the great adventure of life and at the end of the road is your prize, and the satisfaction of knowing that you persevered and had the courage and strength to continue to trudge that road to your destiny. During the holiday season it can be especially difficult to keep up a head of steam with all the disruptions of daily life, projects laid aside, diets derailed and tempers shortened. Whatever you face each day, keep your sense of humor handy, maintain your commitment, and by all means, keep moving forward.
