Moon Things.
The 4th, 8th and 12th Houses are all associated with 'endings'. They are also the water houses - deal with the emotions...and are private places. You need to be 'invited' into them when the chart owner feels safe enough with you.
The 4th House is said to indicate our 'ending' with life - its natural ruler is the Moon and it has to do with Moon things. I believe these ideas go back to very Ancient times and the Medieval techniques. I've never really checked to see if this is really how it all is.
