Sunday, May 13, 2007 | Sunday brings two powerful alignments in the sky. Mars squares Pluto, in close proximity to the Galactic Core -- something that has not happened almost 300 years. Also the Sun squares Neptune, while the Moon ingresses Aries overnight at 2:18 AM UT, i.e. Sunday in the UK and late Saturday night in NYC.
Mars and Pluto are harbingers of change. They compel us into action on a very personal level and an extremely profound one. The planets themselves are both rulers of Scorpio, a sign that brings up issues of power, sex, money, life and death. The square suggests a symptomatic clashing of these forces, bringing to a head some of these primal issues that affect us deeply at the core. There is a tremendous potential now for transformation as long we use this power wisely.
There is a sense of immediacy and urgency arising now, along with a deep desire for change in situations where there seems to be an imbalance of power. Mars is in Pisces, and Moon in Aries suggests a deep emotional fire at the heart of the situation. This is potentially explosive energy that needs to be carefully channeled to have a constructive resolution. Perhaps the lesson we are learning here is that most external struggles mask or mirror internal ones -- so avoid power struggles at all costs. This planetary influence calls for sensitivity when dealing with people and issues as we are all under the same pressure.
Also the Sun in Taurus is squaring Neptune, causing a bit of haze in our ability to see situations clearly. With the immense pressure we are all under, there is this running sense of disillusionment and denial. This may also come in the form of deep self-doubt, which can bring to surface fears of failure. We are being asked to keep our eyes wide open for the facts and not project our inner fears on a situation, or find unhealthy escape mechanisms. It is true that it can all get too much at times, but the more we commit ourselves to learning the truth, the easier it is to move forward and make the right decisions in our lives.
