president bush is ordering the mass slaughter of the symbol of the united states of america - the american bald eagle.
allegedly, each bird is to be caught, its throat slit, and its body wrapped in an american flag, before being burned.
this is supposedly to protect the american public from avian flu.
apparently, a new presidential seal - eagle free - is being designed, and will shortly be available to the president.
what do YOU think? as a non-u.s citizen i still feel absolute outrage at this. i would be interested in your responses.

I don't think the animal activists will let this one go over, take it to the supreme court.Bush is reaching for something. In a way this is a symbolic jesture saying those that are free will experiance death.

I'd like to see your source documentation.
How can another make an informed opinion from your initial post?
Especially with such inflammatory information, it's important not to incite drama unless there's valid, documented cause. Without citing your source, all we have is your word, infused with your agitated energy.
Please be careful with this type of post. (Especially now that Mercury's gone retrograde again and the moon is full.)

The Onion is a well known source of conspiracy theories.
I highly doubt anyone will be wrapping any birds in flags and slitting their throats.
Much Love, Destra

The Onion is a satire magazine, not conspiracy theory magazine. It was meant as a satire!

Well reading the original post sure got my blood boiling even at the thought of it. Thanks Sowelu for your level headed response. We could have had a week long debate over this if not for your request for source material. And the joke would have been on us...but what a horid thought~

Oh, don't avoid the Onion! It's a hoot! I've known about it for years and it's still just as funny as it was the first time I visited!
