Coming out of the Dark

The winds of change blew through last month in a BIG way. Through the dark clouds of death, despair, and destruction, I see a light. The light isn't off in the distance. This light is coming from me.
I experienced my own death, despair, and destruction over the past several months. When May 1st came, this "May Day" did not signal impending doom but impending delight. It was as though I woke up that morning with the answer I have been seeking, de! Light! Lighten up. Enlighten. Light the way. Delight in life!
An article I recently read said that the time for struggle is past. We can all let go now and boy, do I have a lot to let go of! The old patterns and fear have weighed me down long enough. To face all of the boogie men in my closet isn't easy but it sure does feel a lot lighter after the closet is clean!
I still have some sorting to do; sweep out an old relationship here, mend a torn one there. These relationships are the ones that try us the most - our family. How do I remain true to myself, speak from my heart, and say things that may be difficult for them to hear, let alone understand. Effective communication between family members can be trying but when we are literally tuned into different frequencies, it is nearly impossible. Nevertheless, this is part of my growth and clearing.
As we all lighten our load, we are able to focus our light on creating a better a world. As more of us become en-lightened, we shine the light so solutions to our problems are able to be seen. We realize (see with real eyes) that we have the power to change our world and when we work together, we create miracles. It begins with the willingness to change ourselves and then shine our own light.
I will leave you with this song by Gloria Estefan, "Coming Out of the Dark". The words to this song are so appropriate for our time. I changed the word "on" to "from" from the lines "It's shining from me". I encourage you to sing along if it feels right. Happy coming out!
